Tanka time!
 

A tanka is a Japanese verse form in five lines, the first and third of five syllables and the rest of seven.
I invite anyone and everyone to pull out the dictionary and/or a thesaurus, study or exercise some English to put to work at the Americanized tanka form of poetry here!

Haloes trap us
rocking embodied star-shine
effete gravity
draws into many zeroes
heavens woven of our hearts

Soft suggestion wanes
humored by dwindling voices
unto a hard void
morphoses wrangling exits
asunder seek media

Satan rules the earth
The human is weak, servile
the miracle of life
corroded volcano toast
wifi shear topical oil

fraught death threat rivals
a throwback riotous heat
finds old cinders to
reignite flashbacks toward
wizardly conflagration

against feud fervent
angelic mindful minstrels
frame sound majesty
afflicted folk swarm to find
warm magic esprit de corps

Rather have a tanka gin!

focused on raindrop
gloomy, dark, with power out
mindful remainder
falls swift, attractive, stark, lone
bright pop slow-motion collapse

proletariat
new age riotous protests
at a divine loss
"equalized" modernity
overthrows all of the time
