ooh sister would be hard. 100% agree with pipeline.
|
Wow. This is a hard one. I actually think EVOL is harder to rank for me than Sister or Daydream would be. Certainly harder than Bad Moon. But I will give it a whirl...
1. Tom Violence 2. Expressway... 3. Shadow of a Doubt 4. Starpower 5. In the Kingdom #19 6. Secret Girl 7. Green Light 8. Marilyn Monroe 9. Death to our Friends 10. Bubblegum ... I think. |
Wonder why it was so hard to do EVOL.
Hard but fun. Should we do Sister next? Don't everybody chime in at once. |
evol really grew on me over the years. great record.

Bah.. In the Kingdom #19 rules, Lee's delirium tremens ;)
|
In the Kingdom #19 can't be matched. Evol is like Unknown PLeasures.. the production is just as good as the songs so they all add up to one. to pick one would be like picking a favorite child.

1. Green Light / Shadow Of A Doubt / Death To Our Friends / Express Way To Yr. Skull
2. In The Kingdom #19 / Marilyn Moore / Tom Violence / Secret Girl 3. Starpower 4. Bubblegum |
1. Tom Violence
2. Express Way To Yr. Skull 3. Green Light 4. Shadow Of A Doubt 5. Death To Our Friends 6. Secret Girl 7. Marilyn Moore 8. Starpower (Overrated) 9. In The Kingdom #19 I am not going to count "Bubblegum" because it was a CD reissue bonus track and a cover. |

Why do you like the things you like and don't like the things you don't like? |
I agree; they're all rank.
Signed pun cunt. |
If I had to place the songs into a ranking list of my personal taste (signed grammar cunt) then it would be summit like: Greenlight, Tom V, Shadow and xpress. The rest can do one innit.
|
This is impossible to decide. Bubblegum is the worst though and Xpressway is sort of overrated (but still very good)

Surely 'Expressway...' is overrated but has become iconic through the years due to live perfomances, we can say it's the first song they used to make long-bizarre improvisations live and that's been a singularity in their forthcoming career as a rock band... well, not the first ('Satan Is Boring' was crazy live for example) but the first staple in their setlists or the first commercial one... you know what I mean ;) |

I would not say "Expressway" is overrated but I think all of the other songs on EVOL get overlooked because of that one song. Personally I love "Tom Violence" almost as much if not more than "Expressway" but "Tom Violence" is one of their greatest opening songs on an album and "Expressway" is one of their greatest album closers. |

And youīre right, sometimes I canīt explain why I like some music and some not. And even I should like some music (for example most SY fans like it) I just canīt like it if I donīt like it. |
1 tom violence
2 expressway 3 shadow of a doubt 4 green light 5 secret girl 6 death to our friends 7 in the kingdom 8 marilyn moore 9 starpower aside from starpower, every song on this album is damn near perfect. |
