squarepusher - just a souvenir
Whoo. Comes out October 27th!! I'm sure it'll be excellent. New song streamable over on the myspace: http://www.myspace.com/warprecords |
That song on the myspace is the most unsquarepusher-like song ever by the way haha.
|
oh cool, I am checking
check check |
wtf?
Ive never expected something like this. in the first seconds I thought it was a squarepusher typical jazz-bass-piece but no, really looking forward to listen to the whole album!!! |
Yeah, it almost sounds like.. fuck I dunno... RUINS or something maybe? Haha. No, not Ruins. I dunno. Very proggy bass and schizophrenic real drums. Crazy shit.
|
man, this track already made my day. love the dirstortion on the bass!!
yeah really proggy but in no academic way more in a chaotic, more loveable way!!! repeat |
Yeah, I love it. Way different than his usual stuff. Can't wait for this album!!
|
Better be fuckin' better than Hello Everything. But can it top Go Plastic?
|
Whaa?! Hello Everything was GREAT. I still listen to it 2 years later. "Welcome to Europe" and the title track alone were just unreal. Go Plastic is great, though it's filled with some melody-less beat exercises that bore me silly. Squarepusher has some of the best melodies I've ever heard, he should use that skill as much as possible. Hahaha.
My favorite Squarepusher is probably FEED ME WEIRD THINGS. |
Yeah Feed Me Weird Things is ace. I just really don't dig Hello Everything. Ultravisitor had 3 amazing tracks but the rest was absolute garbage.
|
Ultravisitor was garbage? Some of his most complex and melodic songs and probably his most consistent album from beginning to end? I'm not going to pretend that it's his most interesting album, but damn... garbage?!
|
Yeah. Just tracks like I Fulcrum and 50 Cycles put me to sleep. I don't like Squarepusher when he goes off on tangents such as those. That's why I like Go Plastic, it sticks to a similar sound on all the tracks without getting too tiresome.
|
hmm seems there's always some amazing stuff on all of his albums and then some absolute pony. I personally detest the slap bass wank off's he seems to be unable to leave off each one but but love virtually everything else, thought ultravisitor was uncharacteristically consistent (though blighted by the inevitable sub-level 42/primus gross outs in the middle) and love much of music is rotted one note but I think Do you know squarepusher? is the only one i make it all the way through in one go. had given up by the time hello everything came out so don't know where he's at for this new one.
|
Do You Know Squarepusher was also rubbish. Only the title track and the Joy Division cover was good. I'm more of a fan of his individual songs. When he's good, he's fucking brilliant.
|
agreed. shame really.
|
sounds like squarepusher has ditched his instruments and his vegetarian cafe like stuff for the old shit electro again.. sounds very like that album... big loada i think....
sounds pretty ok |
Do You Know Squarepusher is probably my favorite thing he's done from beginning to end, except the pointless Joy Division cover.
The third song on that.. jesus! |

Oh man, Big Loada! Big Loada rules! |
This new songs fucking rules! Can't wait!
