Merzbow ripped Sonic Youth!
 

This still has me puzzled..... I hardly ever dream, or at least I don't remember them. But last week or so, I apparently dreamt about reading an article that Merzbow's new album would be an A to Z cover of Rather Ripped. :eek:
The weird thing is that apart from the name, I had never heard a note of Merzbow's music! And after listening to some samples somewhere I don't think I will ever be a fan of his work.
But then him covering Rather Ripped would be intriguing

at this point, merzbow can start wearing makeup, stage giant pyro shows, sell dolls, game boards, lunch boxes, etc. anything imaginable, do albums that just consist of an unhooked telephone and tell people to suck his dick and he's only in it for the money and he'd still be one of the coolest musicians alive.

thurston wears a merzbow shirt on the rr tray. most "fans", i'm sure, will pass on the rather remixed.

he did an amazing cover of ghostrider by suicide, which i think i might upload because i love you all.

imagine if merzbow did an album with keiji haino that consisted of of haino knocking on doors and ringing doorbells while akita manipulated the sounds and ate canteloupe...that would be the coolest thing ever.

and i have that shirt that thurston is wearing on the ripped tray art. it came with the 'turmeric' box set that was sold through blossomingnoise.com, and only less than 100 were made.

and i'd be all about hearing merzbow fuck up 'rather ripped'. i think it'd be rather crunk.

Oh, and that Haino and Merzbow already did a collab like that. The only difference is Merzbow ate watermelon.
