A summery blend of Jangly Indie Rock, Shoegaze, Dream Pop, Trip-Hop, Hip Hop, MPB, Bossa Nova, Shibuya Kei and more. A juicy cocktail of tracks that just epitomize summer to me. Enjoy.

Beat Lagoon: Summer Blend Vol.2

This time with a bit of Surf Rock, a strong Bossa Nova and MPB section, a bit more Hip Hop, some Post-Punk and some T.Rex for good measure. I really like how this one turned out.

I uploaded the last volume of Beat Lagoon for this summer on mixcloud today. This time I couldn't resist putting a little Exotica and Plunderphonics in there. Overall, a very eclectic mix. Like, Slowdive, Exuma, The Millennium, The Avalanches, Camp Lo and Anne Clark all in one mixtape. Tried to tie 'em together as smoothly as possible. I think this one has the best transitions out of the three. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

After a bit of a hiatus, I created a tight set again. Lots of Shoegaze, Dream Pop, Jangle Pop and the like. The Youf made it too. Enjoy :)

Yeah, S.C.U.M. were this really short-lived band that had loads of potential, but for some reason they only released one album. They started out somewhat rougher and more post-punky on their early few songs, but once "Again Into Eyes" rolled around, they went for more of an ethereal shoegazy and sometimes synth-heavy sound. Really love that album, but it never really got much recognition. Yeah, I can certainly hear the similiarities to Drab Majesty here.


As for Spotify: I have a free account, but I mostly use it to listen to music. I'm a bit torn when it comes to Spotify. Besides, it doesn't give me the freedom I need when creating mixes - being able to upload my own, with fades, seemless segues and all. But I have considered making some quick lists too. So never say never. :D




Thanks. Yeah, that particular album with Elis and Jobim is kind of a staple for me during this time of the year. I've been kind of low-key getting into Bossa Nova and MPB over the last few years.
