Nice one. I'm slowly building up my collection of Wire Tappers. Got about a dozen so far.

BTW I had a message from Sleazy about the Coil tracks that John sent me.
Unsurprisingly he has little recollection of them. After all it was over 20 years ago. All that 'systematic derangement of the senses' has taken it's toll!

Haha. It's not surprising at all.

Some pre- Can stuff:

Rosy Rosy with Inner Space-Kamera Song mp3

Vogue Records 45, 1968
Every few years I make a concerted attempt to enlighten myself re: Can. Their appeal continues to elude me, and they remain one of those revered-by-hipsters acts that I can't quite get my head around, right up there with Townes Van Zandt, the Free Design, the Flying Burrito Brothers, and Wesley Willis. This record by Inner Space, Can's immediate precursor...this I like very much. It appeared on Vol. 1 of Electric Loosers, a series of compilation CDs devoted to (mostly) German Beat and psych weirdness; it was based on the Prae Kraut Pandemonium series of vinyl LPs, which are easily the strangest of the Rubble/Pebbles/Diggin' For Gold-type comps I've run across. There is a very entertaining article about this record on Julian Cope's Krautrock site, as well as a scan of the rather stunning picture sleeve.

OK. Ithought I'd take a break from Post Punk Industry and offer up a slice of Pre Punk Psychistry instead.

From the heady days of the mid 70's I give you - Terry Brooks & Strange - Raw Power.

If you can get past the first song, which is obviously an attempt at fooling the casual listener into thinking that this just another main stream, prog based album, you will be treated to guitar based lunacy of the highest order for the next 40 minutes.

Enjoy.

I was just listening to a lot of pre-punk stuff last night, as well as all the 80's jingle jangle guitar stuff and sub- Replacemnts/ Rem stuff that i could think of. Once again, thanks Florya, you deliver as usual.

Kan Mikami "Sendo Kouta: Mikami Kan Enka no Sekai"
(Japanese "Enka" 1973)

A folk singer who plays extreme music like later punk rock. The antithesis to the sophisticated and soft folk music. 'Hiraku Yume nado Arujyanashi' (I Have Never Had a Dream that Opens), 1972 Includes the cover of female singer Keiko Fuji's hit song "Keiko no Yume wa Yoru Hiraku (Keiko's Dream Opens in the Night)" in the "Enka (grudge song)" style." ; Recordheaven : "Kan Mikami – an underground radical protest folk singer/shouter and actor who was involved in the Tenjo Sajiki and Tokyo Kid Brothers troupes, and by extension, with J.A. Caesar. His first album, "Mikami Kan No Sekai" ("The World of Kan Mikami") [1971] apparently contained a kind of folk rock with intense presence and dark, harrowing, "real" lyrical subject matter. I'm not sure if there were any albums between this and the next one I'm aware of, "BANG!" [1974]. It features Yosuke Yamashita's group and other jazz musicians as his backing, and is reputedly a weirder, more progressive affair, mainly for the title track. This has been described as "a bewildering psychedelic collage of free jazz blasts, musique concrete, tapes and Mikami's unique voice, silky and caressing one moment, soaring and screaming in agony the next". Mikami apparently didn’t do much again until the late 80's, collaborating with Keiji Haino of Fushitsusha for the group Vajra.

Well. while we wait to see who wins the vote, here's another little something you might find interesting.

It's a cassette release from 1991 on Jeremy Bamber Tapes. One of a limited edition of 69. Lo-fi noise experimentation from the likes of Dachau Lustknaben and The Heisenberg Experiment.
Not everyones cup of tea but they took the trouble to release it so it deserves a listen.

The Love Machine - Electronic Music to Blow Your Mind By!!! (1968, US, electronic)

This is 60's library beat with Hammond organ and they put all the effects on it they could get their hands on. Like Jimmie Haskell did on his exotica Countdown album and Belgium band The Free Pop Electronic Concept on A New Exciting Experience.
My copy is a bootleg cd (Zippy). The last 2 songs are so disturbed, I can't believe this was on the original record. But you never now.
Lp released on Design Album.

The Danse Society - Womans Own (1982, UK, new wave/electronic)

Tuesday, February 6, 2007, 09:38 PM - Music, - UK, English
This is the first record I bought from The Danse Society, and it was the reason why I purchased a lot of their other stuff. But the Womans Own 12" still is the best. Continent deserves a 6 on the White Noise Scale.

1 Womans Own [3:24]
2 Continent [4:39]
3 We're so happy [5:05]
4 Belief [4:29]

In a previous post I requested some rips of Vinyl magazine flexi discs.
Toon from Belgium was kind enough to send me those.
I hereby share them.
Thanks to Toon!
