Beck- The Information
Sonic Youth- Rather Ripped
The Raconteurs- Broken Boy Soldiers

Runners Up
Bob Dylan- Modern Times
Johnny Cash- American V: A Hundred Highways

Xiu Xiu - The Air Force

There's a few. But I'll name:

Bluebottle Kiss: Doubt Seeds.

And it's a double album too. So there!

Ran Blake - All That Is Tied

It's a pity that its cover is one of the worst of the year,though.

Thank you! I thought I was alone in thinking it was an excellent album.

I was flamed for thinking it was Beck's best album since 'Odelay!'. Many of the other self-confessed music-boffs said it's his worst to date.

Anyway, that's my second favourite album of the year, behind:

Got 'These Arms Are Snakes' new album today. Haven't listened to it all the way through yet but it's soundign fucking awesome. Definitely a contender.

Yeah the information is so good. I thought Guero was a bit of a turd, and I think Beck knows that too.

Oh how can I forget Flaming Lips at war with the mystics. I think that was their best one since Clouds Taste Metallic.

so fucking good and easily the biggest surprise of the year for me, but im the fucking idiot because i didnt hear it till after they played here. i wouldvr gone anyways if i didnt have to work but if i had known the album was that good i wouldve made damn sure to get off that night.
