probably. i think its what's keeping me from winning...but everyone else is just in it for the fashion and i am just in it for the music part. I like clothes i just like people to look cheap.

I mean the absence that rightly occupies that rhetorical device.

I am not homophobic. I am queer I just like rock music and I think lady gaga is boring. The disco thing was just a sort-of reference to the way electronic and dance music has become the main form of popular music- sortof like disco how disco started to take over in the 1970s. The difference is now that electronic music and hip-hop are forever the main forms of music. Each evolution of popular music has involved making the band smaller. Now- you don't need a band. I'm fine with this. I actually love Rap and R&B and alot of electronic music(Just not what Gaga is doing). And i find it more exciting to look forward to what rock music will do when it is entirely a fringe medium. I guess I was just being a little purposefully extreme with my whole disco joke. I shouldn't have put this on here. That was a dumb idea.

Truly, I posted this thread on here like a week ago when I was two days into being in this contest. At the time I was sort of on this competitive high- although I felt embarrassed about really wanting to win the contest and tried to justify in my mind that it was because I didn't want the people in the contest who could afford a larger big city schools and only seem interested in ultra current mainstream pop music to win. I still would love to see someone who I think is cool win this contest. I voted for this one dude who lives in Chicago because he talked about music a lot and said his music icons were K records artists. My main reason for putting this on here was to because I love Sonic youth and refer to Kim as my music icon. Thus I thought it'd be awesome if other Sonic Youth fans entered the contest or if they didn't want to could just vote for me instead. I'm really new to this whole forum thing so I haven't learned to make sure what I say on here is something I'll support a week later- or to have a thick skin about what other people post.

The contest is to be a host/interviewer on a show that Noisey/vice will be doing this year where they go to music festivals and talk about music and style.

eh, it's the anonymous internet-- the last piece of free-for-all in an otherwise facebook-colonized universe. to paraphrase henry kissinger on the world of academia-- the fights are so vicious because the stakes are so low. but it has its good side too, i.e., it's pretty much a free-for-all, so learn to enjoy it.

Oh yeah totally! It's really Awesome for getting and sharing information on a broader level than yr own facebook. Where it's mostly your aunts and uncles who wanna show you pictures of the new grand kids. I actually like this board alot. When I was in high school I was on a movie forum for a very brief period and that was awful so it left a bad taste in my mouth. If somebody posted a best movies ever list- it would always be the same movies. I would always post my favorite movies so Female Trouble and Heathers would always get laughed at along side things like Battleship Potemkin and 8 1/2.

Glice is just trying to divert attention from his shit taste by attempting to insult everyone who doesn't have shit taste.

I cannot wait to see the used music bins in 5 years overflowing with fleet foxes, Joanna newsom, Mumford & Sons, and all the rest of that soft-ass shit.

A while ago I got a Factums LP from the same bins Mumford & Sons will end up in for less than a fiver. I love the record but there it was.
