Guns Guns Guns

Inspired by a thread in another forum I'm at...
How many of you guys own guns? Other than soldier boy I mean.

My brother has a paint ball gun AND a bb gun. Better watch out.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 12.05.2006 06:27 PM

me
we own so many of them, makes me feel really safe & warm inside

static-harmony 12.05.2006 06:29 PM

I don't own them, I think they are wrong, but I feel that if people want to own them that is up to them. But I do believe in harsh regulations in order to get them.

That's the same as me. Guns are fucking scary.

static-harmony 12.05.2006 06:34 PM

Yeah, i feel they are bad, but unlike most supposed left-wings I don't advocate banning them.

No one will ever ban guns, it's pretty much a lost cause. As much as I'd like them to disappear

static-harmony 12.05.2006 06:40 PM

I think it is a silly idea to ban guns, if you really think about it.

Although I should be opposed as to where I grew up, as a kid there was violence all over my neighborhood.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 12.05.2006 06:43 PM

you guys are silly.

By no-one you mean the majority of countries other than the United States, right?

I'd like to see gun-ownership abolished in America. I can't see any fathomable reason for the majority to own them. Rural types/ hunting enthusiasts/ fans of Pheasant, yes. Over here it's quite difficult to get a gun for hunting/ rural things, but it is possible. Even a lot of farmers don't bother with one. I've been out shooting before, at the range and tin cans. It's fun, but I don't feel my constitutional rights have been violated if I have or haven't got a gun.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 12.05.2006 06:46 PM

i dont really agree with people who carry their guns in their cars or walk around public places with guns
but i think that its okay to have them at home for protection
or if you're a collector
and if you like to go huntin'

yep.

Glice 12.05.2006 06:49 PM

This 'protection' is a curious idea. I have a baseball bat by the side of my bed for 'protection', but I'd get arrested if I ever used it. AND it'd be a great deal harder for me to kill someone 'protecting' myself with a baseball bat.

It occurs to me I should have a cricket bat in the interests of stereotypes.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 12.05.2006 06:51 PM

dont know yalls rules over yonder
but here, if someone is on yr property
you can shoot em down

god bless texas
(and john wayne)

Glice 12.05.2006 06:54 PM

Until someone did actually die from getting shot whilst trespassing, it was the same over here. Now you're only allowed to use reasonable force. The ruling on having whacking great fucking bear traps in your enormous back garden is still ambiguous, however. Hello! You're a parochial joke! Where did you come from? Jolly nice that you turned up, what?

Pookie 12.05.2006 06:54 PM

I think if you want to know why America is so fucked up you just need to look at the issue of gun ownership. The whole "guns don't kill, people do" bollocks.

The argument that there wouldn't be less people killed if gun ownership were restricted, and just the basic mis-reading of the American constitution, which at no point says that people have a right to own guns:

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Where to start with that badly constructed, extremely ambiguous sentence.

static-harmony 12.05.2006 06:57 PM

See the fore-fathers thought it would be a great idea if the constitution was ambiguous so each generation can decide for themselves.

nomadicfollower 12.05.2006 06:57 PM

I'm by no means an advocate of guns, but damn, they're sure fun to shoot.
Which, I guess, is why they're so popular.

Norma J 12.05.2006 06:58 PM

America do need to turf the guns.

jon boy 12.05.2006 07:15 PM

i dont realy like guns having seen first hand what they can do. people who go hunting are general wastes of space.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 12.05.2006 07:18 PM

i came home one day and my dad was puttin one of these on our gate

i lol'ed

no, but we are serious about it.

'Word' as they say.

RdTv 12.05.2006 07:39 PM

Guns don't people: people who are so scared they turn to hatred to perpetuate a undying cycle, and therefore murdering in not so cold but very warm frightened blood kill people.

Thats what happens in tough neighborhoods and ''ghettos'' of america, people get into drugs (taking them or selling them) and somehow, sooner or later become desperate and turn to violence either for protection or for so called ''neccesity''.

I used to have guns and I am not proud of it, I've been shot at and shot at others, its a horrible feeling, nothing but horrible.

krastian 12.06.2006 12:42 AM

I have to admit, shooting a gun is prit-tay prit-tay fun.

zedius 12.06.2006 12:45 AM

I have only even touched a gun once, but I tend to believe that "people kill people". Criminals and murderers get guns if they want 'em, and that's not going to change. I think that I will probably own a gun one day, and learn to shoot it, because I believe in self responsibility. My self defense is my responsibility. Not for the police, who are going to get there too late, and not for belief in the good of mankind, which is far from consistant.

king_buzzo 12.06.2006 03:18 AM

i have a wide selection of bb guns from shotguns to little girl guns.

yeah, bought them when i was like 5...

and yes, i dont play with them anymore

Tokolosh 12.06.2006 09:54 AM

All guns should be tied in a knot!!!

Savage Clone 12.06.2006 10:05 AM

I don't have any myself, but I don't like the idea of the police and the military being the only ones who do.

I once throughly enjoyed wasting an afternoon shooting my friend's dad's old-style black powder rifles for hours on their shooting range.

The super pro-gun NRA crowd still kinda creeps me out though.

Danny Himself 12.06.2006 11:24 AM

I've shot a rifle, but it didn't have real bullets. I got to shoot hay.

ALIEN ANAL 12.06.2006 11:28 AM

i dont think we can truely get rid of guns....guns are just the evolution of our bones we once picked up and hit each other with. we will always be creating some sort of weapon.

LittlePuppetBoy 12.06.2006 12:45 PM

My little brother found an old pellet gun in a garbage can at the nearby playground a few months ago, in near perfect condition, despite some of the handle being missing. It can no longer be used for shooting, but it is good to pose with and spin around in your hand

_slavo_ 12.06.2006 12:49 PM

Guns...erm...no, thanks.

i can respect that

however, say someone were to give you a gun as a gift... would you accept?

static-harmony 12.06.2006 04:42 PM

Guns are good until they are pointed at you.

you mean what did you think we talked about. dont recall ever really discussing anything with you. i was expressing my opinion no one elses.

you really should learn not to take it so personal.

Depends. I would be more likely to accept a crossbow.
I have no gun training and have no business owning a gun as it stands right now in any event.
I think being able to kick ass is superior to being able to shoot somebody anyway, as far as violent engagement is concerned.
