Thanks for the link.

I got one a couple of months ago called Boy Afraid from Anson Rooms at Bristol University which is a soundboard recording (also) from '86.

The Troy Tate sessions from 1983 are up for download at another blog.
http://beedownloads.blogspot.com/200...-sessions.html

The Smiths bootleg Shoplifters from Manchester contains the Troy Tate Sessions and it also has
the 6/01/83 Peel Session, 3/02/84 Glasgow, 3/16/84 On The Tube, 5/20/86 Live on Whistle, 7/05/86 The Eurotube, 12/17/86 Peel session, & their last ever performance on The Tube 4/10/87. I shared it awhile ago along with a compilation called Rarities & Demos 1983-1987 that's really good.

odd avatar, guy

Thank you, Pork.

porkmarras 11.12.2006 12:15 PM

I wouldn't call these really rare but unless you hadn't bought all the 12'' singles here's some tracks that might be of interest.

The Smiths are my Beatles.

porkmarras 11.12.2006 12:37 PM

I have one from their last tour recorded at the Brixton Academy that is great.Pity the sound quality is rather poor.

atari 2600 11.14.2006 04:29 PM

LA '86 sounds very good!

Thanks for the second link. There's enough over there to keep me busy & in the black with The Smiths for awhile.

Rob Instigator 11.14.2006 04:53 PM

hang the DJ hang the DJ hang the DJ!

atari 2600 11.14.2006 05:58 PM

Digging these Peel Sessions now. All I had was the '83 one previously.

atari 2600 11.14.2006 05:59 PM

I'll stand back and cover myself with a dropcloth because, of course, this will now make pork's head explode due to too much swelling.

guitarpro 11.14.2006 05:59 PM

Cheers

porkmarras 11.14.2006 05:59 PM

I've found an awesome version of Handsome Devil on there.

atari 2600 11.14.2006 06:01 PM

You should do a picks cd when you've got them all digested.

"Handsome Devil" on the Peel boot? Yeah, that version is also on Shoplifters from Manchester which I had already because it includes the '83 session.

porkmarras 11.14.2006 06:05 PM

I would have to go through a few of the bootlegs i own first. To be honest i prefer having the actual bootleg(preferably on vinyl) in my hands rather than 1000 mp3s but that site is just too good and The Smiths are The Smiths.

atari 2600 11.14.2006 06:11 PM

Why not? You burn them on a disc and there's art on the site for color printing. Vinyl is nice, but it isn't permanent. CDs aren't, cd-rs, none of it.

The jamiesrungroove guy and the akiraware guy both know what they are doing. I've got a good stereo and I can tell that someone knows how to encode a nice .mp3.

porkmarras 11.14.2006 06:15 PM

Hmmm....i'll think about it.Will you stop hacking my settings if i do it?

atari 2600 11.14.2006 07:54 PM

Did you lose some points or what?
