I don't know why it's so blurry...

That's my collection from around 2 years. I used to just go to the library, but now I go to used bookstores and sometimes Barnes and Nobles.

Alex's Trip 04.08.2006 08:32 PM

Use flash, or a tripod, or something to keep the camera steady on.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 04.08.2006 08:59 PM

theres about 90 books here, and ive got scattered around the place. Last year was the only year I baught books. I plan on getting some more this summer though, I go to the library a lot.

Kim C Not G 04.08.2006 09:15 PM

What type of books are you all interested in?

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 04.08.2006 09:25 PM

I read a lot of older books "classics". I have no specific favorite.

nomadicfollower 04.08.2006 09:34 PM

I read alot of classics as well.
I really like Vonnegut and Dostoyevsky.
I've also trid to read Camus and Satre, but they fly over my head.

Camus are sartre are good. I reccomend reading their plays. Quite simple.

nomadicfollower 04.08.2006 10:34 PM

I have Sarte's No Exit, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'm reading Catch-22 right now. It's pretty good.

Alex's Trip 04.08.2006 11:07 PM

No pics, but I am reading In Cold Blood-Truman Capote

nomadicfollower 04.08.2006 11:17 PM

Are Capote books good? I've heard of him, but never thought much of it..

I read Breakfast at Tiffany's before this, and thought it was good. In Cold Blood, is really great though. The movie, Capote, was also good. Hoffman rules.

nomadicfollower 04.08.2006 11:30 PM

Cool. I'll look for him next time I'm buying.

youthoftomorrow 04.08.2006 11:42 PM

Hip Priest 04.09.2006 05:21 PM

Bizarre thread, if I may say so. Here's some of mine:

Fiction is on the right side, my favourites are poetry (mainly 17th century poets), HP Lovecraft and Nicola Barker. The other two contain non-fiction, neatly sorted into sections. Best sections include local history stuff, 17th century history and transport history.

Yeah, I guess the thread is pretty odd. I just wanted to see other people's collections.

Sounds like you got yours real organized Hip P. I plan to sort mine soon. Probably group the authors together since most of my stuff is fiction.

I'd also like to get some non-fiction history type books. Don't really know where to start. I want to get something on Napoleon, but I'd also like to read about the periods of music, Barouqe, Classical, Romantic..

here are my shelves...

we have a room dedicated as a library which holds all the books, half the CD's, some of the vinyl and none of the DVDs. The books are kind of organised: Art books, text books, non-fiction then fiction. The CDs are by spoken word, classical, jazz, world, hip-hop and rock then all are alphabetical and chronological.

looks messy to me. (to hip priest.)

holy friggen posts hip

TheDom 04.09.2006 08:06 PM

Mine is more of a stack than an acutal book shelf. Nothing special, just some Dr. Seuss and an Edgar Allan Poe book.

Alright, I'm not the biggest reader, so I have a small collection. I usually just borrow from friends. I am buying more lately tho since most of them are outta town and I have a job again.
I'm in trainspotting right now and loving it. It's cool becuz right before that one I was reading a clockwork orange. I need to find another book written in dialect/fake-language next/.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 04.09.2006 11:30 PM

I'm a big proponent of public libaries. Sort of a waste of paper to buy new books when you can get them from the library.

It's not actually messy (in the sense that it'ssorted into section), but yes, I need more space to neaen things up. Half the problem is the varying sizes of books and all he related ephemera that I collect too. The plan is to have nice shelves put all the way up that wall.

Trasher02 04.10.2006 03:49 AM

Here's my bookshelf

Trasher02 04.10.2006 03:50 AM
