Where did they all go?

Remember when people used to post about interesting things here?

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 10:15 PM

No. Not really.

Honestly, I've been a member of the board for 3 years and I don't ever remember it being any more interesting than now.

golden child 10.11.2006 10:18 PM

huh?
sonic youth?
i think you are talking about the coldplay bbs, so run off now.

nature scene 10.11.2006 10:20 PM

oops, accidentally put this in the "sounds" forum.

Everyneurotic 10.11.2006 10:20 PM

it seems to me like it's peaking so enjoy it while you can kids.

now, there's something interesting!!!

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 10:21 PM

I hope you realize threads like these are the demise of the forum.

Everyneurotic 10.11.2006 10:23 PM

yeah, i hope the trend doesn't start again.

all of a sudden we'll get melodramatic threads everyday saying "i'm leaving the board..."

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 10:24 PM

Those people were leaving because they were pissed at 'trolls'(and by trolls they meant saturnine, assblaster, myself).

Where is AssBlaster? He used to be my partner in being an asshole.

Everyneurotic 10.11.2006 10:25 PM

no man, i meant before, like before when rather ripped hadn't been released,

the saturnine/assblaster shit is post-rr

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 10:32 PM

Ahh. There were loads of "I'm leaving" threads after RR as well.

I dunno. I wish some of those dumbasses would actually LEAVE.

Everyneurotic 10.11.2006 10:36 PM

i remembered the pre-rr threads because they were bitching about the board being particularly slow...i actually left the board for a bit when the whole troll shit went on.

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 10:38 PM

The few times I was away from the board were the times that lots of stuff went down. I could never leave this place for good.

I love it too much.

Regardless of how boring and dead it is certain people(Glice, truncy, cantankerous, you, etc) make it endlessly entertaining.

I thought you might pick up on the irony.

I'm the irony queen, dear.

nature scene 10.11.2006 10:43 PM

and then i thought to myself: who really comes to an internet message bored looking for thoughtful conversation?

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 10:45 PM

Idiots.

believe me, most who come here think that, that's why we end up having them running for the hills.

alyasa 10.11.2006 10:47 PM

My sentiments exactly...

nature scene 10.11.2006 10:50 PM

don't get me wrong; i prefer the intelligent debates to the mindless dribble that dominates the board. however, i suffer no delusions of the magnestism of such topics.

Everyneurotic 10.11.2006 10:51 PM

so, would you rather circle around a topic of which the end of the discussion will have absolutely no effect on the actual subject?

nature scene 10.11.2006 10:53 PM

yes, because i understand that the difficult questions in life never get settled.

And usually the point isn't to affect some general subject but rather the people that are discussing the subject.

true, so what's the point in discussing them?

you never affect the people you discuss subjects, they might consider your point of view but 99.9% of times, people remain with their own thoughts.

i rather have fun.

nature scene 10.11.2006 11:06 PM

well I guess we strive for that .1% of the time. Of course it would be foolish to think that someone can come in here and preach an idea and convince everyone, especially if people have already formulated their own opinions. However, certainly you've been in a conversation or debate where you actually thought that another person presented an angle you had previously ignored?

I guess it depends on what your definition of 'fun' is.

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 11:07 PM

Fun is trolling. It is endlessly entertaining.

nature scene 10.11.2006 11:10 PM

I see the lure of it, but i'll pass.

some might say it's fun to actually try and talk to other sonic youth fans as people and see what their interests are beyond the noise. crazy.

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 11:11 PM

I just like driving you all mad.

nature scene 10.11.2006 11:13 PM

most of us get over it. of course, you exist for the ones that don't

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 11:16 PM

I do not exist.

Only YOU exist.

nature scene 10.11.2006 11:18 PM

wild.

yes, but for that you need people who can listen (or read) and actually care about a conversation. most people here are not like that.

plus the whole "getting to know sy as people" sounds too "justin timberlake's favorite color" and i actually think it's great that stuff like that is not discussed often here. if they wanted to discuss that kind of stuff, they would be here posting, wouldn't they? (of course, for like half an hour a day)

nature scene 10.11.2006 11:30 PM

I think you misread me. I didn't write that I want to find out about SY as people. I said it's interesting to find out about the people that listen to SY. I don't give two shits what thurston's favorite food is or if kim uses a big black dildo.

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 11:30 PM

It's a big purple vibrator.

nature scene 10.11.2006 11:31 PM

thanks. that makes me smile.

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 11:33 PM

I'm glad. Do you really want to hear intelligent conversation now?

That never makes me smile.

nature scene 10.11.2006 11:34 PM

nope. i'm satisfied for the time being.
your head might be a little too big for your hat sometimes, but at least you're funny.

Everyneurotic 10.11.2006 11:35 PM

thanks for clearing that up...i don't care about any of you anyway.

HaydenAsche 10.11.2006 11:35 PM

My genitals are itchy.

I hope I don't have crabs.
