Is anyone going to see this documentary? I'm excited I will soon get to see the fundamentalist camp children cry, denounce Satan and accept Jesus into their hearts! Yes!

what if they denounce jesus and bring satan into their hearts? what if the religion doesn't quite make it all the way down there throats, and they kinda choke a bit? most of all, what if they don't cry?!

When I was growing up there was a Christian youth camp in our area that got in trouble for their "test of faith," which involved some fake extremists "invading the camp," telling all the kids that "the Christians had to line up against the wall to be shot unless they renounced their faith."

No weirder than living your life based on the supposed teachings of the son of a virgin who was impregnated by a ghost.

lawlz. it's sorta true, but its weird that they would use such tactics to force it upon children. that is something i would except from a "drink the kool-aid" cult. not a normal cult.

It makes more sense if you learn the metaphysics behind it, rather than reducing it to ridiculously simple terms so that you can write it off.

My Christianity is well thought out, over a period of many years, during which I renounced the faith and experimented with many other philosophies...

However, I'm not going to attempt to explain why true Christianity works to an atheist or an agnostic on the Sonic Youth message board.

Well, I was just being flip; obviously my reasons for being a heathen unbeliever are more complex than that.

That's cool with me. I don't try to convert anyone. I also know how these conversations about belief systems end up. No one will change anyone else's viewpont...it will just lead to misunderstandings, arguments, and us vs. them mentality.

...and I can't wait to laugh at the dumb fundamentalists!

I saw it today...

I was kind of disappointed. The film-makers threw in a bunch of stuff that was meant to "tell" the audience not to trust the stupid Christians, as if all of the footage of the Christians being stupid was not enough to convince us already. I would have liked to see a more non-biased representation of the stupidity.
