some interesting, non-hysterical points about the ''end'' of postmodernism
|
authenticism is disgusting
|
Sure.
|
and it's not new, it has been done forever.
i don't know how anyone cannot read the first few lines of that article, the tone that is set, and think that you are witnessing the end of post modernism. is this authenticism being advocated not just irony that doesn't get what it is? it's a regression that can't even escape pomo when it tries to. i like mark fishers characteristic of pomo as a disease for which there is no cure. the only thing that can possibly come after pomo has the affix "neuro". and it's already happening. |
I'll read your post once I get the impression you've been reading the article.

prepare to wait

Ok Keeping It Gimple.
|
that was a joke because u think i care.
i already know enough about you to know that you will never have anything worthwhile to say about anything. |
Yes, Keeping It Gimple.
|
now that it's dead, the value of it's art is sure to skyrocket.
|
lolo
|
Alright Keeping It Gimple.

that young retarded man should be more closely supervised while playing with cars. he'll obviously stick them in his mouth (and likely choke) as soon his minders walk away.
shameful, the state of mental healthcare these days. shameful. |

I heard post modernism is going to end in 2012, but some say the calender was read wrong and it will really be 2013...

but at least he's flexible |
The only people who'll care are the pseudo-intellectuals of the chattering classes. The other 99.9% of the world's population couldn't give a flying fuck.

u seem frightened bro

Pomos make me whine and moan all the time, but this is really a disjointed article making silly demands for some nebulous sense of 'authenticity' that misses the entire gist of postmodernism and I'M TOO BUSY SHELTERING from a hurricane to explain further, but I will when I come back.

Don't take this personally, but in this case I regretfully have to agree with you. I hate to admit it, but most of the people I have met, and the percentage increases the older I get, don't just "not care" about art, and creative and innovative endeavors and expression, they don't just ignore it, they avoid it like the plague. They hate it. And it really bothers me. I have this guy I know who until recently, I considered a friend, and he would not only change my presets while I was getting gas or something to all rap and country stations, but would sit there and say "no way, I'm not listening to this shit" if I even tried to turn on a jazz station, or pop in a cd (most of my car collection is sy, + random 90s alternative and such). I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but such willfull, if not devoted, ignorance is inexcusable. When I tried introducing the same guy to bands such as sonic youth, and would explain "yeah, this band has had the original line up for almost 30 years and consistently puts out new albums and tours" his response was "must not be very good if I've never heard of em." Whether its art, music, film, literature, whatever, people are afraid of that which they do not understand. Therefore they dismiss it, and prefer the generic shit that the media and major corporations are shoving down their throats. Are the 2000s going to be remembered for rap and girl/boy bands and american idol flops? |
Jesus died for your post-modernism.

I've just wasted an entire afternoon in the company of a postmodernist who's traveled all the way from the US in order to proudly tell a room full of people in the most complicated way possible that they've nothing to say. Thanks for that.

what a waste of energy
it's unbelieveable if you could now how much energy people waste away |
