ive always thought destroyer was decent

destroyer's okay, kind of boring. not heard much good stuff this year so far.

These guys are fantastic. I am pretty friendly with them; great guys with great taste. They keep getting better all the time.

The new Gay Beast LP on Skin Graft is excellent as well.

Yeah, it's out. Took a bunch to Chicago Independent for wider distribution a couple of weeks ago. I think Burning World has them for sale in Europe as well. You can get it online at the mutant music site or on discogs from me or Burning World.
PM me for details on how to get one of the very last copies (I'm talking like two copies) of the first one.
Shipping costs might equal out the slightly higher price from Burning World vs. buying from us here in the USA.

Krallice are pretty much my favorite band making music today.

I havent' heard any good 2011 albums yet.

Though I'm waiting for physical CD for SYR9.

sic alps and earth are both great. i like peaking lights "space primitive", too, is that 2011?

i think it's 2010, but the new Peaking Lights lp "936" definitely belongs in this thread...

Yuck's album is pretty great



It kind of draws on a lot of sounds from the 90's. Quite heavily influence by bands such as Pavement and Dinosaur JR. It's not particularly new buts it is a nice record to listen to.

Rush - clockwork angels

I think it's fair to say that 'me' would be an accurate answer to that question. Although I don't mind rush, I'm having none of this steampunk bollocks.

I wonder if the LP is shaped like a gear of some kind.

The Sic Alps album is definitely a grower.

Yeah it really is great. I was meant to see them tonight but unfortunately a fire in the abandoned noodle bar next door. Pretty annoying considering I have missed them twice before due to illness.

great band, sometimes they're like HOT WATER MUISIC with the background vocals and stuff, TODDLE because of the catchy guitar lines.. but they have a distinct lite-shoegaze sound. So it's tough as hell but pretty. Great stuff.

gorguts and obscura and krallice and necrophagist are my most anticipated albums definitely

uh, anyway, just as i expected, the new LONGMONT POTION CASTLE is awesome.

New Kurt vile was.. alright. New Deerhoof, I dunno, I don't think I was in the right mood for it. New Tim Hecker was cool. New Six Organs very soon.

I haven't really heard much this year besides SYR9, which I thought was pretty good.

I'm excited to hear stuff out of John Elliott (from Emeralds) new Spectrum Spools imprint, I'm sure it will deliver some quality sounds.

tim hecker & kurt vile got the goods so far. deerhoof vs. evil was a total let down...

& syr 9 but that kind of goes without saying...

I don't know what confuses me more, the obscurity of some of these bands or that fact that everyone but me seems to totally be aware of it all. SYG music tastes is like a foreign language

A lot of people's tastes here are pretty standard for a forum.

thats all I've bought this year as well - I do need to pick up the Metal Mountains lp, but I was waiting for the CD so I don't have to flip it over.
