10 songs you DISLIKE by bands whose songs you generally LIKE.
Well, sort of a reverse version of Genteel Death's thread (because I liked the idea :D). So, 10 songs you dislike by bands you like, go.
Talking Heads - The Overload The Beatles - Revolution 9 Metallica - Fuel Hot Chip - I Feel Better Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven (yeah, seriously, fuck that song) The Who - Who Are You? Arcade Fire - Keep the Car Running Pearl Jam - Just Breathe (but most of the latest album sucks) MGMT - Electric Feel Animal Collective - Visiting Friends |
how many tracks are there on Rather Ripped?
|
captain beefheart - all of bluejeans moonbeams and unconditionally guranteed. Guess that's like 17 tracks.
|
Hmm
The Cure- Catch Metallica- Fuel (pretty much all of Reload, actually) Radiohead- A Punchup At a Wedding Porcupine Tree- Collapse the Light Into Earth TV on the Radio- Family Tree Smashing Pumpkins- We Only Come Out At Night Korn- Everything I've Known Sonic Youth- Marilyn Moore Pink Floyd- Seamus Primal Scream- Sometimes I Feel So Lonely @ Toilet & Bowels: 12, so you have to pick two you do like. |
Finally, someone who hates Punchup at a Wedding as much as I do. I mean, I don't like Radiohead very much anyway but that song is terrible!
pixies - stormy weather joy division - candidate vivian girls - you're my guy the smiths - back to the old house the fall - squid lord fugazi - birthday pony sunny day real estate - pheurton skeurto jawbreaker - oyster theory of ruin - blasted drive like jehu - laua (gasp! I always skip this track; it's boring) |
"Speechless" - Lady Gaga. Only bad song on that record.
|
another great idea,
Sonic Youth - Contre le Sexisme (only SY song I HATE) The Pixies - Velouria (the lyrics kill it for me. horrible rhymes) The Beatles - Hello/Goodbye Misfits - Come Back (too long, too slow) The Smiths - Oscillate Wildly Beastie Boys - fight for your right to party Pavement - Spit on a Stranger hard to think of more |
ooh nice....
half of Pearl Jam's ten album and yesh FoxBen there later stuff is just getting weaker.... got to get you into my life....beatles house of cards by radiohead.... I know there's a lot more...but ye. |

  I'm in shock with genetic kiss, how can you not like these classics! :P haha |
fight right is boring, and was when it came out. the worst beastie rhyme scheme, cuz it was dictated by rick rubin.
spit on a stranger is what broke my heart with pavement. that last album SUX |
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zepplin #1 no if and or buts
Smooth - Santana Jessica - the Allman Brothers Kokomo - the Beach Boys The Tide is High - Blonde Come Dancing - the Kinks Beast of Burden - Rolling Stones Raspberry Beret - Prince Fire - Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Chile (slight return) - Stevie Ray Vaughan * only one man can play this song it's his anthem |
Quote:
<head explodes> that's one of the best Smiths songs! |
yeah it's really good..
|
why am i seeing a lot of bad bands on this thread? is it cool to like them?
|
The only number that immediately comes to mind is The Velvet Underground's 'Heroin'. I think that one's vastly overrated, and I usually skip over it when I listen to the first album or a compilation.
|
heroin's my favorite song, next to sister ray.
|
Brian Eno - Baby's on Fire
Sonic Youth - Peace Attack Rank/Xerox - Stairs Sic Alps - Clubbing For $$ The Pink Noise - Pure Candy VU - Lonsome Cowboy Bill Wire - It's So Obvious Nikki Sudden - Ringing On My Train Bassholes - Blackbird Public Nuisance - I Am Going |
My fiancee is way too into Baby's On Fire..
|
Ballad in Plain D by Bob Dylan
Rats Eyes by Black Flag (the studio version at least) Forever Young by Jay-Z Something 2 Dance 2 by N.W.A. I'm Not Jesus by The Ramones Playa Hatas by Notorious B.I.G. Whats ya # by Tupac Yellow Submarine by The Beatles Changes by Black Sabbath |
Quote:
Oh god, I forgot about that one. Totally. |
Quote:
i like the beatles but i hate most, if not all, of the songs they tossed off to ringo. |
i love octopus' garden. :7(
and yeah, i definitely agree about changes. absolutely shit song on an otherwise amazing album. |
Changes never bothered me...I've certainly heard better song by that band and others, but for me it's a nice Change (sorry) of pace. The "song" that follows it, however...
(although maybe they felt switching from subdued and weepy then going balls out on Supernaut would be too jarring without some filler in between) |
Quote:
Yr talking about "FX" right? I don't mind it, I actually think it's kinda cool. I mean yeah it's a piece of filler but it sounds neat. |
analog filler!
|
Quote:
Yup. |

Big Black are one of my favorite bands, and this is the only track of theirs that I ever skip. It's the vocals. Half of them are bearable. The other half, unbearable. |
Big Black were so kick ass. Still are so kick ass. I wanna hang out w/ the drummer.
|
Well, buy a Roland 303 drum machine..
|
haha
|
i love dead billy! the synths are awesome.
|
1. Genesis: Invisible Touch
2. Rush: Roll the Bones 3. Scorpions: Still Loving You 4. Iron Maiden: Holy Smoke 5. John Lee Hooker feat. Santana: the Healer 6. Sex Pistols: No one is Innocent 7. the Who: Real Good Looking Boy 8. Pink Floyd: Take It Back 9. Metallica: Hero Of the Day 10. New Order: World In Motion It wasn´t easy. Mostly the artist that I like, doesn´t make songs that I dislike (Of course their all songs are not great, there´s only very few that give me the creeps). With a deep thinking I found those. |
