![]() I can't even begin to explain my excitement! If I didn't have a 15% off coupon at Barnes and Noble, I'd snag that T-shirt package. Picking this up immediately - no matter what! |
Cool, I've had it on unofficial DVd for like 3 years (strangely, also on 8 discs, but only $20! Came with the movies, pilot, most of those extras on the official thing, as well as some extras not even listed there). But cool. Who knows, maybe Sifl and Olly will be next. Oh, and MTV's version of the Tom Green Show. And about a billion others.
|
Yeah, I've been watching them all online. But many of the episodes are mirrored/sped up to avoid copyright issues. Plus, some of the episodes are from the show's edited run on Noggin, as opposed to the original MTV version.
The reason this show took so long to get on DVD was due to many of the copyright songs used on all the music used throughout the series. I'd love to see both of Tom's MTV shows on DVD as well. Maybe they're having similar issues? I'm sure the Canadian boxset has sold well. |

The Onion wins. Need this either way.

The free shirt fucking sucks.
![]() What kind of Hot Topic-looking bullshit is that? |
well, you'd pay lass for that + dvd than the dvds alone, so why complain :D?
|
has all the music been dumped so that they could release?
about fucking time though. |
the music in it never had anything to do with the show and was distracting
|
I tried to order it from the dariaondvd website but it didn't work.... only $5 showed up in my cart (which I think was the price for the stupid t-shirt?) as opposed to $49.99. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
|
I hope they didn't dump the music. It really adds to the show's overall charm.
|
Oh how I love this show. Finally we are getting proper treatment of a classic.

region 1 only?
|
They did dump the music. Which sucks, cause I thought it added to the show overall, and there were some seriously good songs used in many episodes. I'll still buy it though, simply because I'm a fan and haven't seen it in years!
|
yeah well the originals are on youtube with the original music.
never has there been a show with such massively sqaundered lesbian potential. sell outs. |

ha ha ha true i loved that show while it lasted alternapallooza!!! |
i'll probably pick this up if i find it cheap enough. i was only 10-12 when it was insanely popular. i used to watch it a lot back then, but i think i'd appreciate it more now.
|
Watching Disc 1 now. The music change isn't too noticeable. If anything, it makes the show seem a little wittier, and a little less grungy. But even that's a stretch.

Most of those episodes are sped up/have mirrored frames. Not to mention the vast difference in quality, and content (i.e. the Noggin uploads, rather than the MTV ones). I am very pleased with my purchase. :) |
i want it
|
I want it if only for Sick, Sad World.
|
I am glad MTV has released this, and the State. Nostalgia is a funny thing. I found some of the State skits to be dated and tired. However, Daria still holds up.
MTV was the best... Sifl and Olly (my favorite show of all time), Buzzkill, Brothers Grunt, The Head, the Maxx, Beavis N Butthead, Ren and Stimpy, Rocko (yeah, those two were on Nick, too), Tom Green Show, Rodman World Tour, 12 Angry Viewers, MTV Amp, Dead at 21, Singled Out. They used to have that MTV2 block every day where they'd just show insane videos for a few hours. Oh yeah, they used to show videos, PERIOD, which is kinda insane to think about now. What happened? |
