no they're like best friends. They did FROM DUSK TIL DAWN together, and then came up with the GRINDHOUSE concept together for DEATH PROOF / PLANET TERROR which led to MACHETE.

They have something in common... neither one has made a truely, from-start-to-finish, great film, yet the internet thinks they're both gods. I can see the love of Tarantino, since he steals from all sorts of great directors.. DePalma, Scorsese, Hark, Woo, Godard, etc... but the love of Rodriguez ALWAYS weirded me out. Besides casting the hot-as-fuck Selma Hayek in nearly all his films, I just dunno about him. Honestly, I like the Spy Kids movies more than any of his other films, by far.

Machete looks awesome.

I really like Rodriguez and I think that Planet Terror is better than Death Proof, by far. Also, the Spy Kids movies blow.

Nah, Spy Kids 3D is the best thing he's done.

Also, Planet Terror is lousy, but yeah, it's about a TRILLION times better than Death Proof, which I consider in the top 10 worst films ever made.

I think Rodriguez mostly sucks. I liked Desperado, his part of Four Rooms, and From Dusk Till Dawn (more so for Tarantino's script). Besides that. Meh.

I feel like maybe in 10 years everybody will finally get that Death Proof is good and Planet Terror is shit.

I'm already there with you NR. Death Proof is the stronger flick by far. I like both. Certainly looks like quite the cast for Machete. I personally enjoy both directors as I find their movies always entertaining. You guys are always looking for perfection anything less is no good in your eyes thus depriving yourselves of enjoying a few hours of release from reality. Also they always have killer soundtracks....
