Who Should Direct Neuromancer Movie?
If Neuromancer is ever turned into a movie, who do you think would do the best job of directing it?
|
cronenberg

Ridley Scott

Linkletter did surprisingly well with A Scanner Darkly, so I'd let him do it. Funny that when it finally comes out, whoever does it, people will say it's a Matrix rip off!
|
cronenberg and linkletter are good picks...
john hillcoat is the only other name i think would fit |
I have yet read this. Imma start on it soon.
|
Andrzej Zulawski
|
Well, the Wachowskis basically already made it once, so why not let them do it again?
|
Chris Cunningham should pull his finger out of his arse and finish what he started with Gibson.
|
Hanneke.
|
Michael Bay, the most american director of all time

I second that! |
it would be stupid to film this movie now, its dated and probably been done better already - the Matrix obviously, or Lawnmower man.
Film Rucker's Software or Wetware - they have some imagination in them that hasn't been exploited by the Spectacle. |

Admittedly I have not read Neuromancer, furthermore I haven't read any William Gibson, though my library has Pattern Recognition. So perhaps I'll check that one out sometime.
But I sure love that episode he wrote for the X-Files: Killswitch. That was a great one. |

Either Russ Meyer or Roger Corman.

most likely to happen. ha |
Cronenberg in collaboration with James Cameron.

actually, strange days wasn't so horrid-- maybe cuz of juliette lewis-- but cameron wrote that-- go figure! fuck cameron, hire his special effects people, and it's done. cronenberg would really give us interesting characters-- as usual. |
I can't imagine any director pulling this film off. Cyberspace is too 80's arcade, more like Tron than the Matrix.
I'd rather someone produce a decent Neuromancer video game, I'm thinking Heavy Rain meets Rez, than a movie. |

he's more like the english version of hollywood |

Hell yes, and make it for the Wii and PS3 only...cyberspace needs motion control... |

i don't even want to live in a world where bay is allowed to make a neuromancer film. i mean i'm already having a hard enough time co-existing in a society that lets that fucker make movies in the first place, but... fuck fuck fuck |
^^^ I just read that as "low budget flop".

you go it right there man, Ribofunk would be much more relevent for our times. |
ok I'll admit it. I accidentally ginger snaps. :(

I take this back 1000+ times Motion control was never a good idea |
In answer to the original question, did anyone say me? I'm nipping out in 5 minutes, but if the financiers do want to give me a call, I'll be available in a bit. I don't know what a Neuromancer is but I'll give it a fair crack.
|
it's exactly like a Wintermute, but less of an Anti-Turingist.
|
Those aren't real words, goth.

tell me what you know about Kuang Grade / Mark XI counter-ICE.

thankfully, I roll 20's and barring any critical hits by your vorpal sword, I'll make my armor save quite easily (elven enchanted mithril chain ftw).
you know what I'd like to see? a Battletech movie. circa 3030, post fourth succession war featuring House Kurita's ComStar-Star League BattleMechs versus a disenfranchised Wolf's Dragoons or maybe, Clan Ghost Bear!!! |
