This one. Some old "telecaster" offshoot. Probably made of junk wood and plastic. Wonderfully smashed up, very thin and very light, but the neck feels pretty good in my hand.

 

If I actually had any talent, I might mind about the quality, but as I barely can play and the guitar looks fine, isn't completely broken, can be tuned remotely right and is somewhat playable, I'm content.

Thats a pretty cool lookin' tele-copy with that old school bridge/tailpiece so you can do SY-esque behind the bridge strumming attacks.

I also have a 70's crestwood mustang copy and a 60's st. george jaguar shaped electric, both get little use...

a bunch of hand me down guitars that sound decent. but i recently purchased a squier jagmaster. which sounds really good

- Fender CIJ Jazzmaster upgraded with AVRI tremolo and pick-ups and a Mastery Bridge (EDIT: I didn't have the Mastery Bridge yet on the pic)
- Fender Classic Player Telecaster Baja
- Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass (really awesome for its price)

Reverend Warhawk. Great for Bryan Gregory style noises (fortunate as that's about all I can do.)

Totally worth it. I've had mine for a couple years now and love it. Plays wonderful and gets a great tone.

A lot more teles than i expected. I also play a tele - a red californian one. I spent a bit on it but don't look after it at all - it's chipped and all the frets are beat to fuck. My blood is dried to the scratchplate.

the squire jagmaster is alright, not as good and full sounding as my telecaster custom with the neck humbucker... i think the big chunk of wood missing in the body (it has a spring loaded bridge tremolo thats identical in strats) makes it sound just a little thin to me as its lighter. but the humbuckers are strong as my jagmaster has higher output than my tele custom. i use the trem arm and it wil throw it out of tune, which is not necessarily a good thing pending on what you do, for noise its not a problem obviously. i paid $250 for mine which is the 3rd version made of these, which to me is a good buy for the "bargain" player... the 1st version (vista series) is much more sought after, made of the higher quality runoff jazzmaster parts in the 90's (i.e. tuners) i think these go for almost double about $500... avoid the 2nd version i heard they are the least desirable and quality plus the neck length was changed.

To get everything out of that stuff, you'd probably need a bridge pickup, which my guitar doesn't have. It just doesn't sound very loud in my headphones.

Also, I have 70's japanese Les Paul copy I didn't mention. But it's black and it's got a SunnO))) -sticker, so it's a proper DOOOOM -axe. Not the most comfortable to play though and lot's of fret buzzing.

I Have Fender telecaster (Japan, sunburst) and Tokai Strat (from the eighties, caramel-blue). I also have Guild-bass (Made in Usa), I don´t remember the serial number, it´s from seventies, the first Cure bassplayer had same kind of. I want to have someday Richenbacher-guitar (like Pete townshend and John Fogerty had on sixties) and also some Gibson (I like sixties style Les Paul, Sg, Flying V, explorer and firebird).

i want to get an SG but saving up for a gibson is kind of out of the question for me, has anyone here ever used the tokai SG and if so what's it like?

I've not played one but have heard that the good ones are every bit as good as Gibsons, at a fraction of the cost. I think Tokai have factories in differnt countries and that the ones made in Japan are the ones to look out for. They're a bit more expensive than the ones made in China or Korea but still far less than the Gibsons. I imagine the only thing you might eventually need to replace are the pickups, but in terms of build quality, I've heard that the Japanese Tokai's SGs are far more robust than Gibson's.

All I have in Boulder is my Guild.



The lack of humidity dried it out too, and I had pay a luthier to fix it for $180. Finally invested in a humidifier... haha.

I use an Epiphone SG which was around £350... I play left-handed too so it's supposedly more expensive than a right-handed one.

It's a 70' Deluxe Reverb. Looks larger in the pic.
