Canada
Y or N?
Do you live in Canada? Is it nice? where is nice to visit? Have you been to Banff? Montreal? thnx |
I've been to the flower gardens in Victoria and up the west coast, but that's it. what I saw was beautiful.
hey, you might even see snow! |
er, is Victoria a state in Canada?
would it fucking suck in winter? |
knowing you, the entire country would suck in winter. snow's pretty for awhile but the cold goes down to the bone.
unless....er....you mean yr wintertime, which means it's summer there....and you would still find it cold. haha it's pretty! cold, but pretty! ps: it's the capitol of British Columbia. |
if you do go, be sure to watch this first:
![]() it will help. :) |
do canadians have central heating yet? Yeh winter like, canada winter, my summer :(
The cold is the biggest thing that could ruin it for me I think. That and a flight. jesus I just googled winter temperatures for montreal. what the fuck. -25c low? fuck. |
red x ^^

I've lived in Canada my whole life. I've been lots of places in it, but not to either of the destinations you mentioned.
I'm going to take your question about central heating at face value. If you can find somebody in Canada who doesn't have central heating, I'd be very surprised. My favourite city is Vancouver. |

Why? is it more fun? prettier? You've lived there forever so you wouldn't notice the cold as much I guess.. |

Well it could be nostalgia talking- I used to visit Vancouver all the time as a kid. Chinatown had cool stuff, Stanley Park had the zoo, and we just generally had a good time. I lived in suburban Vancouver briefly as an adult, and still enjoyed visiting Stanley Park, but Chinatown has gone downhill, as has East Vancouver (friend of a friend got mugged there- guy had a GUN). But yes Vancouver is beautiful, and there are museums and stuff. One thing I like about Victoria (which isn't a lot, it's kind of a snotty place) is the Royal British Columbia museum which is just amazing (again, the kid in me talking?). I am from BC originally and I miss it to this day. It's the kind of place that gets in your soul. |
I am a museums and art galleries and 'odd but interesting places' kind of girl, so Vancuver sounds neat.
would visiting places in winter be totally out of the question? Would it be so snowy you can't go anywhere? |
Are you Australian? Because I bet you'd find Vancouver still pretty cold in the winter. But as for snow and getting around... I wouldn't worry about that. It can get pretty cold there. The biggest problem if it snows in Vancouver is that it's quite hilly in parts, and can make roads too slippery to go down.
Is it out of the question to visit Vancouver in winter? I guess that's up to you. Would you be willing to visit New York in winter? I think the winter climate is about the same. |
ive been to nova scotia and it was fucking beautiful. would like to check out PE island/newfoundland some future summer.
i can't think of a cold-ass cuntry not having central heating-- wtf FLOOZIE if you see this i'm still waiting for my list of summer locations grazie |
i live in vancouver, its nice. going to toronto in a few weeks and then touring to edmonton and calgary as well as a few other places.

Yeh I'm Australian.. I think I'd rather visit New York in winter than in summer, I imagine a summer in a big city to be gross and stinky and a lot worse than winter. I just dont really know a lot about Canada or Canadian cities. I live in one of the colder Australian cities, but it isn't cold by world standards. It never snows in my city.. I've seen snow once, and that was when I went camping in the mountains.. erm is there okay public transport? if you can't use a car to get around in the winter can you still get around by train ? hmm |

are you flying? driving? train.. ing? |
Canada is okay. Pretty in a lot of places but really... not all that interesting.
I'm grateful to live here though. |
i love canada. back when i lived in upstate ny, i was only 3 hours from the border/montreal area. montreal is a blast, ive been a handful of times.
also, nova scotia is great, and i went to inverness (sp?) in the summer, and it was a really beautiful campsite near the ocean, surrounded by rocky cliffs. beautiful. canadian vacations are where its at. and the people are friendlier than americans. |
montreal has the best nightlife ever! (if you're into that kind of thing) and if not, they have a decent music scene aswell.
a really cool place to visit is Algonquin Park in the summer, its in northern ontario. i spent alot of my youth camping there and its just surreal. |
public transport is fine in Vancouver. we always walked or took the bus. :)

i don't think this^ is correct. i go to montreal often. in the summer its awesome. in the winter its cold. public transport is pretty easy for the most part. |
I would love to spend a winter in the Great White North.
But I'm a So Cal pussy when it comes to weather so I don't know. |
:D :D :D

I live in Canada.
I go to Montreal all the time, it's a 5 hour drive from here, it's pretty bilingual, so if you don't speak French you should be okay. Montreal is my favourite city I have ever been too as well. Toronto, where I am, is pretty dumpy, wouldn't be my first choice to visit if I was coming to Canada. It rains here all the time too, lol. My brother use to live in Victoria/Vancouver, it's suppose to be really nice there, and along the coastline has the warmest winters, but a lot of rain. Never been to Banff, but the mountains there are suppose to be really nice, if you come in the summer, I am pretty sure that you can bike on the Rockies, and you can ski all around there too. The East coast is suppose to be nice too, but I haven't been there. Hope I helped a bit |
CANADA IS THE BEST FUCKING PLACE EVER
EVER SINCE I WENT THERE AS A KID IT HAS BEEN MY SWORN GOAL TO RETURN. YOU WON'T REGRET IT srsly one day I will fulfil the prophecy. |
i'm getting good vibe from canada.

I've always found on trips to the Great White North, that Canadians are more apt to strike up a conversation with you, and tend to be more friendly compared to Americans. Americans (or maybe it was just us New Yorkers) have a more "leave me alone, don't make eye contact, don't engage anyone" attitude. From my own personal experiences, of course. |
Actually, I change my mind. Canada in the Fall.

well yes, you are talking about new yorkers. |
i've not been to canada but of the trips i've made to different parts of the US, New Yorkers were easily the friendliest. But only to people from London. They seem to loathe everyone else. Understandably.
