are any Frank Zappa albums out of print?

Most of the bad ones should be out of print. Meaning most of the catalog.

I think most of them are. he made like 40 LP's of various kinds,a nd I think there are 4-5 you can still get on CD

I would suggest erasing Mr Zappa's recorded output from your memory

Um I think Studio Tan and Sleep Dirt are, but they are available in altered form on the Lather box set.
Most of the You can't do that on stage anymore discs are really hard to find and may or may not be out of print.
200 Motels is deffinitley out of print, and I think Civilization phase 3 is also.

Those would be the notable ones.

Whilst we're here chewing the fat about Mr Zappa, we're all forgetting that there are more pressing issues at hand, such as the fact that when the Velvet Underground was formed, John Cale put forward the name of Tom Jones as being their lead singer. I had this confirmed to me by a leading authority on the Velvets, so it has to be true.

Yeha, they probably are on an order by order basis though if you know what I mean. LIke I don't think Ryko just puts them in their catalog for stores, but I do think there are enough unsold copies to account for special orders for quite a while.
Actually that's the real question, how many of them are actually still being produced versus how many of them are just still around in enough numbers to be shipped in small quantities?
All the stuff he rissued on Ryko in the ninties is pretty much attainable (save for 200 motels, which I managed to find used at an F.Y.E)
BUt I think some of the stuff released posthumously or on baking pumpkin is either out of print or scarce.

The BP tends to stay rare. My local place will get a couple copies of those, and then I never see em again. Though I'm sure the FZ webstore keeps em pretty stocked.
