Year of the Lips
I'm going to start a thread about this 'mysterious' 'group'
http://www.myspace.com/yearofthelipsmusic Good things from someone apparently too modest to tell the world the music they make is literally 'not as shit as the majority of music made by people'. I particularly like how one of the tunes (signal to earth) sounds alarmingly like a track off the first Team Brick record but better. |
I've got the CDR and I love it so much.
It's awesome stuff, keep it up 'Musician X' ;)
nice stuff..added!
what is it?
Sounds and processing. Not really noise. EQ ahoy.
it's one of the boardies, he's British, and can be a mean prick as well as a totally sweet guy. one of my favourites in this wreckage.

You can tell, because if you spell "Year of the Lips" backwards, it comes out "L-A-T-I-N L-O-V-E-R".
Year Of The Lips gets one of my highest ratings - seven thumbs up. Can't someone out there get this artiste onto vinyl?
I liked the track that was played on Art for Spastics, so I'll definitely be checking these out.
Much enjoyment!
so it's sarramkrop?
This thread prompted me to spin these tracks for the first time in a few weeks, and damned if I'm not hit over and over again by how talented our Italian friend is. I've always enjoyed porky's music, but he took some kind of quantum leap forward in the last year or two, seriously.
Thanks for your comments, they are really appreciated.
It's true that it's in the past year I started taking myself more seriously. I went through a phase of just abandoning the whole thing 'cause I felt directionless, so last summer I was going home after work listening to Ashtray Navigations and Astral Social Club before bedtime, imagining it would be fun playing in those bands, and one night I just decided to pick up an instrument again, so that was it. Not that I sound remotely like any of those names, I just happen to find the way they approach things inspirational. I try not to play/record music now unless I feel 100% mentally and physically into it 'cause it shows too much when I'm not. Again, thank you for listening. |
these folks tell no lies
it is great music! |
I added you porky. Yippee.
Very cool shit man
one of my favourite myspace friends, even if I am too lazy to put him up my top friend list yet.
signal to earth was my favoruite and still is |
This CDR belongs on vinyl!
Porky everything you create it's always awesome.
I've uploaded 3 new tracks on my reverbnation player. They are excerpts, and on one of them (Soon To Be Forgotten) I've used lyrics written by Jennthebenn.

I'm planning to put my first proper record out by the end of this year, or early next year. It will make you cry by how good it is.
excellent..looking forward to destroying it with my razor sharp wit and critique!
I can take it.
Get it released on a label!
That's a very complicated thing, at the moment.
The acoustic section in 'Punishment Colour' works extremely well I think. I was actually a bit disappointed when it stopped only a minute or so into the song. I'd love to hear an entire song done in that vein.
hey isnt this that awesome band that was on israeli radio last week?

Demonrail - It wouldn't let me upload the whole track. Demos are demos, though. I've learned the lesson too well recently.
Derek - Thank you, you're a sweetie. It is complicated for reasons I don't want to talk about now. Fugazifan - You and your radio show rule. |
Get me a copy as soon as you have them! I promise, the world will hear it.

Some new music I have been working on recently. Recording isn't always good, and it's still mostly a work in progress. Slag off, let it die, enthuse etc.

Oh. I thought this was another Embryonic circle jerk thread. |
Good stuff.
I hate comparing artists, but parts of Sound 7 made me think of Zola Jesus. Not a bad thing. Which reminds me. Still need to get New Amsterdam. |

New Amsterdam is a piece |
thanks nefeli and tokolosh
I made crap video for one of the new tracks I've recorded in the past few weeks, today. I fucked up the editing slightly by 2/3 seconds at the end, then again I could do with someone who has real talent for making videos (i'm looking at you tokolosh and atsonicpark). Anyway, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlZTrzzRb_c |
