hello old friends. i need your help
so i used to go on here quite a bit, back when my only friend was hayden (goo, i think his old username was. and then it was hayden. i think. i dont know. its been so long.) but then i entered the real world and made more friends than just him. (we're still, lyk, bestiez tho ZOMG!!1.1.!)
i didn't really make any friends on here because i didn't have good taste in music and i couldn't internet argue for the life of me, but 1/2 of that has changed. my pre-mature notions of music have finally made it through puberty, and now that they have i am noticing that illegally downloading music is so much harder. does anyone know any good torrents&or downloading limewire-esque applications that can scrape up that 'hard-to-get-muzack' that i'm craving??? I just got into ESG (emerald, sapphire, gold) and i looked on pirate bay and limewire. but i just can't find their shit. suggestions, help? por favor?? |
Soulseek.

is it a site or a download
|
Soulseek.

Don't mind him, he's just one of those RIAA lawyers. |
That's precious.
And i downloaded soulseek but its not working for me. however, thats entirely my problem. i think i have too many firewalls, maybe? |
Could be. I can't be much help, as I use a Mac and use SS so infrequently that I usually have to find a new version and download it all over again every time. I only download stuff if I'm really looking for something particular, and asking about it here is most often effective first anyway. Plus I can't even keep up with all the cool stuff Adam and Porkie are always throwing out to the rest of us.

If you just bought their album then the time you're wasteing trying to download it could be put to good use.

That's certainly true if one is trying to download an in print album and wants the whole thing. Doesn't work if what you want is a live show, to try something you've heard about before buying it, or an out of print album though... |
best of luck

Not possible. Starving artists going to school are always broke. I have 40$ being mailed to me tomorrow but i'm spending that on preperation for a rave on saturday. |
google it?
"ESG album name .rar" "ESG album name blogspot" "ESG album name rapidshare" "ESG album name megaupload" etc. |

Did you create a user account? -if not, create one. -if you do have one, Have you connected to the server? (is the little thing under 'connection' green) -if not, connect. -if you have connected, it's probably a firewall blocking. Quote:
This also works too, but it's more difficult to know what kind of quality files you are getting. You basically have the guesstimate from file size unless the hoster or uploader expressly says it. |

Wow! Now that really is sheer computer cleverness. |

Epic trolling ITT. Downloading music is for people that enjoy killing something they love.
|
easy. just google what you want to download and add "site:blogspot.com"
(e.g. " "Come Away with ESG" site:blogspot.com "). |
"Let Me Steal From My favorite Artists" site:blogspot.com
|
Let's please not have another "DOWNLOADING IS WRONG!" argument...

But it hurts the benevolent mega-corporate record labels who always have the artists' best interests in mind! |
"IF YOU DOWNLOAD THEN YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T LOVE MUSIC"
"QUIT DESTROYING THE INDUSTRY YOU THIEF" etc. heard it all before. |
I am not gonna start an argument, but buying an actual recording from online, or an indie record store supports much more than just the persons who made the music.
|
Yeah and I would never argue that. But personally, I couldn't care how much someone downloads.

Absolutely. And 90% of people who download music also buy music. In fact studies have actually shown that the people who us peer to peer sites actually buy more music than the people whining about how downloading music is stealing! In fact, there's a precedent, since people who listen to the radio (which the industry tried to shut down for "giving away music" in it's day too!) also buy more music. |
oh and isohunt.com is far better than the piratebay etc.
|
yeah i download a lot i admit. but once i fall in love with an album i ALWAYS end up buying it.

this is what i do. i'm sorry, but a 30-second sample or one song on someone's myspace isn't enough to get me interested in an album. and if i download an album and don't like it, well i wouldn't have bought it anyway, and i end up deleting it. so how's that immoral ? as for the thread topic: http://www.blogscope.net/ http://www.sordomusic.com/db/ also try shareminer . or loadingvault. these all work. plus using the blogscope thing, you will find good blogs that will probably be a good resource for finding new music as well |
better yet, buy it from the band when you see them live, if yr lucky enough to see them live!
|
i would. but bands never come near me. i have to drive 4 hours one way usually.
you guys in large cities don't know how good you have it. going to see a concert ends up costing $60+ for gas, meals etc. and if i have to stay overnight, it often ends up hitting $100... so maybe bands should start paying me for gas money, plus all the time i spend hyping/blogging giving them free publicity. |

davenotdead should be paid for his music love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
YES
Thank you for recognizin' Rob. rep has been sent. |
I think we're onto something here. I already encourage people to download my band's music for free (even "steal it" if that makes them feel like a rebel). I suppose we need to start paying them next!
