Would you feel like a tool if you had a Lee or Thurston signature Jazzmaster?
that lee ranaldo jazzblaster thing is nice. dont like the colours though.
I dig the colors
No.
I would feel like a tool if I had a Mark Hoppus signature Strat, though. |
Yeah. . . those are pretty bad.
I sort of think "well every guitar is a signature guitar of the person who designed it" Tons of people play Les Paul's after all. |
actually I think the real tools are people answering this thread
Well I might be trading in my old mascis jazzmaster...

if i could afford em (they'll probably cost a pretty penny) i'd get em to see what they sound like. i really like teh color of thurstons though, that wood green is the shit.

![]() kill yr idols |
I'd feel like a tool. I don't know why really I just would.
Fuck it, I want a Jazzmaster, so if I could afford to blow a lot of dosh on said sig model, I would. And then get it really modded up anyway! :D
To be honest though, I'd buy a Japanese made off-the-shelf model, and stick some "hot" pickups on it - that would be more than fine for me. |
Fuck no. Bring them on. Job search time!
i would feel more of a cunt with a jagstang.

I saw a band in high school where one of the kids had a Jag-Stang. Half of their songs were Nirvana covers. They weren't bad, but it was sort of lame. |
they are pretty hideous. i think that anyone i see using one i would just think about 15 year olds and the nirvana influence.
i bet they sound good though (the t and l sig jazzmasters, not the nirvana cover band). i like how they only have the volume nob and not the tone one.
I have thought about buying a Jagstang or whatever. But if someone notices you playing a Lee or T jazzmaster they know you are a pretty big fan. So, if you had a chance to discuss it with them you could understand your influneces..
Not such a big deal...As long as you can add your own contributioins to what they have done with the Jazzmaster....Try not to be a full-on clone... |
Yeah if I got one I'd probably put it in my own tuning, not one of theirs.
hmm.....nevermind I said yes but I misunderstood the question. I thought the guitars were signed......heh.?
no, they're just guitars built to their specifications.
no, not a tool, but feel like a fool for not having one...
want a 2008 American Deluxe strat right now actually with the double humbucker and 2 single coils but it's a grand...to try and replicate a magical instrument i had in days of yore that Buren Fowler (Drivin' N Cryin') helped me with...fender must've heard about this gtr haa ![]() my custom was just like this only it was canary yellow instead of orange sunburst thinking about getting a custom Fender Squier "strat" with 2 doubles instead though on the cheap...it's only 150 at a pawn shop...wood on those is supposed to be only average, but it feels really heavy///looks cool too...forest green with black pickguard///even so, it blows a gibson sg away...at least at holding tune.../..advice? guitars r an addiction |

if i recall, the Mascis model is $100 less then the regular model, and have to think atleast Thurston's would be so (Lee's has those tele humbuckers and not sure if they cost more) and from an economic standpoint it's more cost effective i still really like the color of the Mascis one though the best |
I suppose Fender only make about, 1200, jazzmasters a year and I suppose it makes sense to designate 30% of them to a designated relic...
are the signatures limited in general? not just the lee and thurston one?
No idea. These are just prototypes, no idea if they'll go into production.
can anybody post a link or pictures please?

oh yes they are lovely and the finish of the thurston one is just awesome
i don't like'em at all
you bastard, hahaha
There are two ways of looking at this...
A) you are copying an original and have no creativty and should smash your mirror B) they are the industry standard type instrument and we should all just agree that they are really good guitars... |
not if it was free.
jazzmasters are my favorite guitar definitely.. just to hold one is amazing...

I've alredy got one that I did myself. Fun fun guitar.
![]() I ended up also buying the Elvis Costello signature Jazzmaster simply becuase it was a great guitar. It was one of the only offsets I had ever seen in my local guitar center store and I made that thing disappear. <3 that 70's stain finish. If the SY sigs are anything like them they're going to rule. ![]() SO, YES. I FEEL LIKE A TOOL! |
Well, I don't know if I would buy one. More inclined to buy a T or a L than a JMas though. No dig against J., but T and L have a better sound and I definitely think they deserve their sig models if they wished to. I guess they would have to be fed through a wood chipper to get the look. I wouldn't mind having some of the add-ons they both have done to their guitars, and I imagine drumsticks would be standard. The Jazzmaster is the best guitar though!
OK, those guitars are sweet, etc. NOW, DID ANYBODY RECORD THIS SHOW OR WHAT?
