Charles Manson

Call me nuts, but from the songs I've heard, I like his music :D

jon boy 05.26.2006 05:49 PM

to be honest he did have quite a good voice.

he never actually killed anyone.

EMMAh 05.26.2006 05:51 PM

His voice is really nice, I like it a lot. :)

Well neither did Hitler.

I kind of like his music, too, though.

Daycare Nation 05.26.2006 05:58 PM

Some of his music is good. I like "I'll Never Say Never to Always."

PunkerViolence 05.26.2006 06:01 PM

Wait a sec, this guy was a fucking murderer, wasnt he?

johnnywinternoshow 05.26.2006 06:01 PM

home is where you're happy is brilliant, i haven't heard too much else

Daycare Nation 05.26.2006 06:03 PM

He didn't actually murder anyone, as far as I know. If he did, it wasn't one of the killings at the Polanski residence. That was Tex Watson and some of the women that did those killings.

Sort of. He wasn't a murderer, he was the leader of a group of murderers. He's in jail for a bunch of other random stuff, as far as I know.

EMMAh 05.26.2006 06:04 PM

Cult leader more like it hahah

PunkerViolence 05.26.2006 06:07 PM

I dont know too much about him, but i read this a while ago...

Quote:

According to Atkins, several celebrity targets were next on the list. She had planned to carve the words "helter skelter" on Elizabeth Taylor's face with a red-hot knife and then gouge her eyes out. She would castrate Richard Burton and put his penis along with Elizabeth Taylor's eyes in a bottle and mail it to Eddie Fisher. Frank Sinatra was to be skinned alive, while he listened to his own music. The Family would then make purses out of his skin and sell them in hippie shops. Tom Jones would have his throat slit, after being forced to have sex with Atkins.

Call me twisted, but this is one of the best books ever.

PunkerViolence 05.26.2006 06:09 PM

And this guy wrote music??

EMMAh 05.26.2006 06:10 PM

I really want to read Helter Skelter

That's all bullshit--Atkins never killed anyone, and she lied in court. The fact that they killed famous people was a total accident.

Also, Bugliosi's book is a total fabrication. Read "Child of Satan, Child of God" and "Manson in His Own Words."

Everyneurotic 05.26.2006 06:11 PM

i like the cover guns n' roses did, look at your game girl.

one thing is to fuck with hollywood stars, but you just don't fuck with frank sinatra and tom jones!!!

PunkerViolence 05.26.2006 06:11 PM

Lol...how can that be an accident?

krastian 05.26.2006 06:11 PM

You should.....I read it when I was in 7th grade. I'm fucked up, I know.

Manson had been to a party at that house and remembered the location. He took the women and Tex to that location so that they could do a "copy cat" murder and get Bobby Beausoleil out of jail...but the plan backfired.

EYES OF THE DREAMER (aka EYES OF A DREAMER)

It's all in the eyes of a dreamer
It's all in the eyes of a man
All the things that we've done in life
And all the things that we've planned

Can the world be sad as it seems
Where are man's hopes
Where are man's dreams
Aw the eyes of a dreamer
In the eyes o' the man

All the songs, have been sung
And all the saints, have been hung
The wars and cries have been wailed
And all the people have been jailed

The world it's yours my friend
It's yours to begin or to end
Oh the eyes of a dreamer
In the eyes of the man

Take nothing from nothing brother
And it's all just the same
For the loser is the winner
And there ain't no blame
'Cept the end of the game

The moment, is ever constant in the mind
Everywhere I look the blind lead the blind
Here's your chance to step out of time
There ain't no reason and there ain't no rhyme

For the trouble you bring is the trouble you bring
And a thing is a thing just a thing is a thing
In the eyes of a dreamer
It's in the eyes of a man

It's all in the eyes of a dreamer
It's all in the eyes o' the man
All the things that you've done in life
And all the things that you plan

Is the world, as sad as it seems
Where are your hopes
Where are your dreams
In the eyes of a dreamer
All in the eyes of the man
And you are the man

I'm gonna see if my dad has it or something...

krastian 05.26.2006 06:42 PM

Good call. The best parts are the accounts of all the crazy shit Manson and crew said in court. Pretty graphic at times too.

EMMAh 05.26.2006 06:48 PM

Yeah, I bet :)

kingcoffee 05.26.2006 08:38 PM

Charles Manson killed adrug dealer when he was young man. Although he did not actually kill anybody in the days when he ran the Manson Family, he just orchestrated the murders, he IS a murderer.

kingcoffee 05.26.2006 08:39 PM

Yeah, he could play. But he never would have gotten very far.

krastian 05.26.2006 10:20 PM

This is an interesting read as well. I used to read a ton of true crime books.

EMMAh 05.26.2006 10:57 PM

I'll try to check that one out too :D
There's so many books that I want to read but I never get the chance to go to the library. I should probably try to go to the one at school sometime :)

Savage Clone 05.26.2006 11:19 PM

If you can find it, I strongly recommend picking up the LP "The Manson Family Sings Songs Of Charles Manson," released several years ago on LP. Probably floating in the interweb somewhere. It's fantastic; really great apocalyptic folk on par with any cool psych folk of its time. I vastly prefer this stuff to actual Manson recordings; the music is considered, creepy and beautiful and has male and female voices and great lyrical content. Seriously, independently of the "Manson Factor," that LP completely holds up and deserves appreciation.

Looks like it is digitally released too, and maybe expanded:

Yeah, I seem to recall reading that in one book--was it a black guy?

He didn't orchestrate the murders, as far as I can tell...If you look at Beausoleil's murder of Gary Hinman, the Tate murder was exactly the same (things written in blood on the wall, etc.)--it was a "copy cat" murder to throw the authority's off Beausoleil's trail. It's likely that the Manson women were responsible, because they were the ones who knew of the Beausoleil murder and were there to see it.

A very long time ago, I used to have a shirt that glowed in the dark and was Manson's face and it said: "Is it hot in here, or is is just me?!" How fucked up is that?!

Haha that's awesome :D

Daycare Nation 05.27.2006 01:23 AM

why is that awesome?

And if you don't think so, whatever, I do.

Daycare Nation 05.27.2006 01:31 AM

What does it mean, though? Why does Charles Manson care about the temperature?
