finding nobody 05.25.2006 09:06 AM

sonic sphere 05.25.2006 10:51 AM

i'll try! not very technologically minded but i'll give it a go!

marleypumpkin 05.25.2006 03:49 PM

I have MUCH interest in getting both of the bootlegs mentioned so far, if you wouldn't mind sharing.

If the copy of yr bootleg is on regular cd format, than all you have to do is download a ripping program (www.mgshareware.com), then rip the file to mp3 format, & upload via www.yousendit.com, or www.badongo.com.

This thread is really making me gag for a bit of Raw Power on my stereo

marleypumpkin 05.25.2006 03:57 PM

Ahh, "Raw Power", my first Stooges album.

Do you prefer the Iggy mix(wich i have now)or Bowie's ?This album never EVER tires me.

marleypumpkin 05.25.2006 04:07 PM

I haven't heard Iggy's mix version.
But, I can see how Bowie's mix has it's faults.

I agree, I can't get tired of that LP. In fact, I'll be listening to that later tonight.

krastian 05.25.2006 04:09 PM

I love Iggy's mix.....best Stooges album I think.

i'm compressing the 2003 bootleg i mentioned above. it'll be up very soon. i know i said 2004 bootleg up there but that was a typo.

marleypumpkin 05.25.2006 06:40 PM

finding nobody 05.25.2006 08:35 PM

mine, too. it's their best complete album, but Funhouse has some better songs.

acousticrock87 05.25.2006 11:14 PM

So far this thread has been very anticlimactic...I'm hearing a lot of promises that just aren't being carried through. *Shakes head*

I personally like the ST the most.

hey alex 05.25.2006 11:40 PM

Yea, raw power hasn't sunk into me like hteir first two... i don't listen to it enough. I listen to the first the most.

I have a dbl LP bootleg of some 1973 demos they did. I'd up but can;t... i also don't really listen to it, so if anyone's intrested in having it, lemme know. We might be able to work something out/

atari 2600 05.26.2006 09:54 AM

best =
Complete Fun House sessions (3 disc)

it was officially released by Rhino though

I have no The Stooges boots, only Iggy Pop, so I don't know the answer. ...the best sounding one I have is a soundboard from '88 & has Steve Jones on guitar. I don't think I'm even interested in a re-formed The Stooges boot...

finding nobody 05.26.2006 10:59 AM

without any further delay! i give you the first half of the stooges live in 2003

I honestly don't like Raw Power. All the songs mould into one big mush. I prefer each track to have it's own individuality ala The self titled album.

dazedcola 05.26.2006 12:21 PM

ive been meaning to get some stooges albums with all their unreleased songs from 72-74 that could have easily made another album but there's soo many bootlegs. anyone know the good ones to start with ?

finding nobody 05.26.2006 12:23 PM

i bought fun house after reading that jack white said it was the best rock and roll record ever. it's my favorite stooges LP and one of my favorites ever. the self titled LP is awsome. but i love my fun house

atari 2600 05.27.2006 02:28 PM

the page no longer functioning
http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache...s&ct=clnk&cd=2

this is a good show & has great sound quality

Onani Nic 05.27.2006 08:20 PM

The Stooges are my favourite band ever but i'm kind of glad they broke up and didnt make another album. I've got a CD of rarities and tracks recorded after Raw Power and there aren't all that great.

Although Raw Power is good, i don't think its nearly as good as Funhouse. They seemed to be more of a typical 70s rock band once James Williamson joined the band.

I'd be most interested to hear the shit they were doing before they recorded the self titled. I dont think recordings exist anywhere but they only really had 4 songs and Iggy used to bang on a bit water comtainer which had a mircophone inside it. From what i read before they got a record deal it was mostly hypnotic, psychedelic, droney stuff.

actually, the funhouse boxset is 7 discs long, the guy who was uploading it to the board didn't quite finish the whole box.
