favorite six organs of admittance record?
I'll go with Dust and Chimes though School of the Flower comes close...
Great band.. I just hope the next release is a bit different... and by different, I don't mean more of his girlfriend singing... |
for me, school of the flower.
i like dark noontide, too. |
Dust and Chimes, Sun Awakens, Dark Noontide
|
Dark Noontide but I like them all very much.
|
school of the flower
|
songs for octavio paz
dark noontide shelter from the ash s/t dust and chimes compathia the sun awakens nightly trembling school of the flower the manifestation the cdr he put out w/ Tanakh |
Hard to name one... maybe i'll go with The Manifestation, but i love them all
BTW, Days Of Blood is out now on vinyl (500 Run)!!! |
The Sun Awakens Is Pretty Special And So Too Is Shelter But My Vote Goes To School Of The Flower
|
dust and chimes is beautiful, the sun awakens is great, i also have always loved the manifestation ep
|
the sun awakens, followed by school of the flower
|
the sun awakens, perfect balance between his songwriter sensibilities, his acoustic playing as well as his electric, more psych side.
|
I have only three of his albums but my favorite in order are:
Songs For Octavio Paz Dark Noontide Shelter From The Ash |
school of flower
the sun awakens & that s/t cdr that is all singer song writer tunes ... the days of blood lp is great. i did the original art and had a bunch of copies for a long time then got a copy of lp the other month. the sound has been cleaned up and sounds amazing on lp. highly recommended! |
All are of pretty equal awesomeness, but if I had to pick I'd say School of the Flower.
|
The Sun Awakens, but I like them all.

New EP by band "goatflower" (which I guess is some improv thing with members of Current 93 and Magik Markers but is mainly a Six Organs related thing). Haven't heard anyone mention this at all. |
It's not very good...
|
Never cared to attempt finding their music.
|
Free lossless (well, almost) download of the CD-R that came with Empty The Sun book here: http://emptythesun.com/emptythesun.html

You like John Fahey, right? I can't see a Fahey fan (moreso a Basho fan but still) not enjoying Six Organs. Beautiful finger picked acoustic guitar with middle eastern influences, drones, odd bouts of percussion, occassional bouts of lovely vocals. Just great. |

Haha okay. It's not that much like Fahey -- it's just something I think a Fahey fan would like.
Yeah, the band name sucks, but it's really good music, I promise.... |

I bought it at a Six Organs gig a couple of months ago. It's not very good indeed. Looks pretty ugly too, generic CDR in a folded piece of paper, edition of 100 I think. Supposedly there are other releases by Goatflower coming up later this year. |
Hm.
|
i don't know, shelter from the ash is below average for ben, maybe he's getting lazy...
|
New rarities record 'RTZ' is coming out on the 20th of January.
I'm sure it will be worth for 'Warm Earth, Which I've Been Told' alone, from the 2003 split with Vibracathedral Orchestra. Some of the best music EVER. |
I've changed my mind about Luminous Night... the record really is fantastic.
Should I drop £20 for RTZ? Hmmmm. |
school of the flower
|
Yeah Moshe, School of the Flower is my favourite too.
|
Does anyone know or can figure out this tuning
http://youtu.be/fAGgUOnXEh8?list=PL7BE75AEF5A4B69CE |
Does anyone know any of the tunings used on Dust and chimes and Dark noontide?
It seems very slack- maybe some form of C or B tuning |
School of the Flower, no question.
|
Can anyone upload the first Six organs record. Can't find it anywhere.
