Should I Bother with Arcade Fire?
 

I have heard good stuff from them, but I do not know if I should go for it? What do you guys think?

For some reason I bought Funeral a couple of years back. Big mistake. The most boring shite I've ever heard.

I have heard some of it on youtube, but some songs I like and others they bore me. So I do not know if it is worth getting any of their stuff.

There's better stuff you could spend your money on.

Like the Stones? I have no direction when it comes to music, I can never find a good place to get music info. It is annoying.

Sometimes I am in NIN, other Electrelane, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Blondie, Leadbelly, M.I.A., Patti Smith, R.E.M., Radiohead, The Raveonettes, Be Your Own Pet, Ryan Adams, The Vines, Velvet Underground, The White Stripes, Blur, Oasis, Bowie, The Cure, Christina Rosenvinge, Cat Power, Camera Obscura, Bob Dylan, Bikini Kill, Beck, Alice in Chains. Those are the ones that come to mind.

I liked Funeral for a time... Neon Bible sucks....

Im listening to the new Excepter... and Ariel Pink lately... Excepter is hard to describe, but their new one {Debt Dept} is so good. Ariel Pink is lo-fi psychedelic pop

I saw them live on Austin City Limits on TV and thought they were sort of interesting. Then I downloaded Neon Bible and I thought it was pretty blah.

They are too hit and miss to warrant a full price purchase, imo.

Well, I'd say go for it. For what it's worth, I like them quite a bit.

you most definately should sir. the first album is better than the second in my opinion.

arcade fire are a really good band. funeral is great. neon bible is great too bvut i am sick to death of it. i think maybe thats the fires problem now, everyone is overfamiliar with their work.

they make some very pretty songs.

they've got some surprisingly good songs...

but no i wouldn't really bother..

I think Funeral was a very good album. But Neon Bible sucks in my opinion. Saw them live this summer and it convinced me that I was right: some Neon Bible songs sounded okay, but they were nothing compared to Wake Up or Neighborhood #2.

davenotdead => the new Excepter rules! Burgers especially (really great it's on the CD version) :) When one of the two girls goes, "Turn the party over! Over! Over my shoulder!" I think it's almost insane

I also prefer Neon bible.
