The Sopranos Is The Greatest Show Of All Time!
i said it, got it off my chest, it's fucking true! i love this show like no other! i might get shit for it, but fuck all you bastards drinking "HATERAID"! i wish tony soprano was my father! discuss.
|
Six Feet Under.
|
nah fuck that!!! sopranos is way better. and i don't even like that mob/mafia/gangsta shit usually. i think the godfather series is so-so, scarface is fucking gay etc............ i think i just like it because it's done in the modern day and they deal w/ every aspect of it. it makes me wanna start the irish mob where i live (because i'm irish). "you never talk about this thing of ours"

ya see that's what i'm saying!!!!! co-sign! |
it actually began as Goodfellas the Show, not surprising since that is a far better movie than Godfather.
Ray Liotta was the top choice to play Tony Soprano but he turned it down stating he did not want to commit to a television series. Lorraine Bracco was originally asked to play the role of Carmela Soprano, but she felt that the part was too similar to her character in Goodfellas (1990). She decided the role of Dr. Melfi would be more challenging. Six of the regular cast members appeared in Goodfellas (1990): Lorraine Bracco, Michael Imperioli, Tony Sirico, Vincent Pastore, Frank Vincent, and Joseph R. Gannascoli. Ten recurring cast members also appeared in the film: Nicole Burdette, Tony Darrow, Tony Lip, Frank Pellegrino, 'John 'Cha Cha' Ciarcia' , Suzanne Shepherd, Paul Herman, Marianne Leone, Daniel P. Conte, and Frank Albanese. Eleven one-time guest stars also appeared in the film: Nancy Cassaro, Anthony Caso (as Martin Scorsese), Chuck Low, Tobin Bell, Gene Canfield, Gaetano LoGiudice, Vito Antuofermo, Frank Adonis, Anthony Alessandro, Victor Colicchio and Angela Pietropinto. In all 27 former cast members of Goodfellas have appeared in the Sopranos. |
i knew all of that already... mirrior dash=my new best tv friend. :)
|
In one episode, Christopher (Michael Imperioli) shoots a bakery clerk in the foot because he perceives him to be disrespectful. When the bakery clerk looks at him in pain and disbelief Christopher says, "It happens," before walking out of the store. In Goodfellas (1990), Imperioli's character was shot in the foot for the very same reason.

and the dude waiting to get bread in that scene, they later bring on the show as vito... who turns out to be gay and gets "whacked" accordingly.

|
Kids in the Hall is the best show ever.
|
i honestly don't have a favorite season i like it all! you probably would "smoke me" in some trivia, but i have seen the entire season from front to back multiple times as well... i get bored at work so i watch the episodes online lol. i have a giant painting (it's so lifelike it looks like a photograph) of christopher, tony, paulie & sil above my entertainment center in my livinig room! i got it for x-mas from a buddy, it's fucking awesome

what was tony sirico's only requirement to the david chase about playing the character of paulie walnuts? |
Sopranos is the second best show ever.
the best, of course is The Wire. |
Baltimore in the hizzy.
|
the wire is good don't get me wrong, but i wish they'd stick to the thug & police stuff. the politics stuff is so fucking boring! but i like the news room stuff they added this season.
|
Quote:
he would play paulie under the condition that paulie never be a "rat" at any given point in the series |
the wire is brilliant too, ive missed the past couple episodes though cause i dont have hbo in my apt. i got to watch the premire when i was at my parents house.
|
good job sir, yr turn... but i'll probably get it wrong lol

there have been various references to micheal imperioli's, along with many other of the shows charachters, carrer littered throught various episodes. name two of these instances in which christopher's behavior mimics an aspect of his acting carrer. |
1. when they find out vito's gay christopher says he wants to kill that fat faggot and stick some kind of sausage in his mouth, which is what happened to his character in dead presidents.
2. the prior bakery scene you talked about he shoots the baker in the foot for disrespecting him the same thing happens to his character in goodfellas. round 2 lil buddy, yr turn. 2 part question: who was the first guy tony whacked so he could "make his bones" and become a made man? who ordered the hit on the guy he whacks? |
wikipedia makes this too easy.
CTRL+V = Willie Overall, shot and killed by Tony to become a made guy (1982) don't know part 2 though and don't feel like looking for it... |
