favorite scenes from movies
dont know if this has already been done, so...
heres one of my all time favorites Une Femme Est Une Femme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xij4Egslh8M |
OH!
and how could i forget: the intro to 8 1/2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmEqBdde5H0 and the ending too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzSh3Ijrc6U |
man.. too many.
here's a few. the scene where James runs around the wheatfield in Ratcatcher. also, the break up scene in All The Real Girls the last scene of Paths of Glory the opening of Amadeus the scene where Seita goes back for the food, the morning of the fire bombing in Grave of The Fireflies (Mamiya's piano is heartbreaking) the burning of Sal's pizzeria in Do The Right Thing the fight between Jubei and Tessai in Ninja Scroll etc. |
The scene in Dr. No when Bond waits by the bed. Classic.
The corridor fight scene from Oldboy. |
I don't have favorite scenes as much as I have favorite moments, which usually only last a second or two.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1KO55JBuFE Klaus Kinski's hands in this scene are breathtaking. Watch for 1:24, 1:45, and 2:24 particularly. It's the little things that really get to me. I just watch this scene (and others) over and over and they're always good, like the first time, because of the details. |
opening sequence to Children Of Men
Bill and Ted play games against Death its all that comes to my head for now |
I'll stop talking about moments for the sake of this thread and talk about actual scenes.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3a0LYEDCV8 This one has always been fucking phenomenal. |

It's one of those that I never thought would become one of my favorite Herzog movies, but I love watching it. Even if I know I don't have time to watch the whole thing, or I'm busy, I just love putting it in and having it playing, even if it's just in the background. Kind of like Looney Tunes, only in a different way. |

The absolute best climax to any movie, ever. Aren't you curious now?

hahahahah goofy!!!!
that is OG |
I must have a hand fetish or something, because my favorite moments in The Deer Hunter are the two(?) times when Christopher Walken covers his mouth with his hand to keep from crying (I assume). One happens during Russian Roulette, and the other is when he's in the hospital, sitting in the window. And he's so distressed he can hardly talk, and you can tell he's trying not to cry, so he just covers his mouth and doesn't say anything. It's really beautiful you guys. I wish I had clips. The two saddest parts of that movie, in my opinion. Even sadder than when he actually dies.

That scene is great, but I also really like when Dax says: "I apologize... for not being entirely honest with you. I apologize for not revealing my true feelings. I apologize, sir, for not telling you sooner that you're a degenerate, sadistic old man. And you can go to hell before I apologize to you now or ever again!" I used to watch that over and over. Oh here it is in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtzIAIP8nQI |
Okay, just forget everything I've contributed to this thread thus far. This is the best scene in the history of all cinema. And I say that with my serious face on.

In a way it reminds me of a movie I made with my brothers, and a scene from it which consisted entirely of my brother Sam dancing to Bowie's "Let's Dance" which as you know is pretty long. The movie itself was very short, and I think that scene was longer than all the others combined. I was filming it, and somewhere in the middle I started laughing so hard I was convinced I was going to pee my pants, so I had to sit down, and by then my brother was sweating profusely because he was wearing a pair of plaid flares, a green velvet shirt, and clogs, and trying to dance. And every time I see They Live, I just equate the sunglasses fight scene with my brother dancing to "Let's Dance." |

Tom Cruise's best movie moment:

The best scenes in grocery stores:
The Long Goodbye Raising Arizona (and The Big Lebowski) any others? |
Obligatory Nick Cave clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS_GagmpfvU But the best part of that concert bit doesn't even have him in it. It happens when it goes to black and white and Cassiel walks across the stage and leans against the wall, and the way the lighting makes his shadow fragment. That is my favorite part. It comes at the very end of the clip. |

This movie gets me pumped. If I were still the sporting type, I would watch this clip before games. |

One of my favorite onscreen pairings to be sure. It's just so odd, on many different levels. |

I saw that documentary already, I could never pull off to be a drag. Or have a house full of drags, and competing to be one. |
