I just listened to the whole thing online and I'm going out to buy it. It's that good. Now, if they'd only start touring
|

it's very meh in my opinion
it's like they don't have a punk edge anymore. |
Does anyone have a site I can go to to listen to this new album?
I'm trying to collect as much music as I can for my b-day. Thanks! |
I really love it! It's their best record since My Brother the Cow!
|
whats the best mudhoney album to start with?

superfuzz bigmuff or go straight and buy the compilation: march to fuzz |
Yeah Superfuzz Bigmuff or Tomorrow Hit Today are the two best to start with. Piece of Cake is also extremely good. Get Under a billion suns though. That shit is SOOOO good
|
Heh. I thought it was pretty shitty.
I mean c'mon. Listen to "Touch Me I'm Sick" and then listen to the new stuff. It's fucking tame. |
No way, you're wrong. Listen to " It is Us "

Listen to Funhouse by the Stooges and throw the new Mudhoney in the garbage. |
I still haven't heard it:mad:
|
My favorite mudhoney in order
SuperFuzz/Bigmuff Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge (highly underrated in my book) Mudhoney Piece of Cake |
I hate it. I had no idea such a great band would ever put out such a shit record, especially because the last one was top notch. Huge dissapointment, I wish I never bought it and I wish I never heard it.

^another plug for Mark Prindle's site. I haven't heard it, but just judging by what you guys are saying about it and the reviews I have read, I don't want to |
I dont know why so many people don't like the new record, i think it's great. Mudhoney still sound like mudhoney while adding some new diversity to it."Hard On For War", "Where is the future" and "blinspots" all sound like classic mudhoney, the horns aren't used that much and it works when its used in my opinion. "empty shells" is a hilarious, catchy rocking song where they poke fun at themselves for being the empty shells of their former selves. I also like the tracks that go some place new like "endless yesterday" that has a nice slow burning feeling to it and could have been the theme to some bizarre cold war, sci-fi movie. "I saw the light" is also great because the chorus gives off the feeling that your riding a spiraling dropping bomb. I admit the second half isnt nearly as strong as the first, but this is still a good record and worth picking up.
|
i don't mind the horns at all, actually, i think that's the best part of the new album.
but if you listen to kill yr idols and then to unmade bed, you would hear a harsh song followed by a mellow song, not a harsh song followed by a watered down and bland song, which is very different in my opinion |

that is what i mean. mudhoney know they are trying to sound like mudhoney but they can't anymore and they don't care, i respect that. |

I've never listened to mudhoney except halloween n touch me. I've been curious though, on more than one occasion I've held superfuzz in my hands, but then bought something else... by the kinks.
|
I would go with Superfuzz or the self-titled first. The last good album I like by them was EGBDF. I didn't like Piece of Cake very much or My Brother the cow.
|
Well this is a gift for the people who like the record!!
