Absolutely so fuckin`great news! Made In Usa is one of my favourites, Theme With Noise is clearly that "Made In Usa" theme that has many versions in soundtrack album, but as the text says, it really sounds different and really great! Can´t wait the whole album!

hahaha yeah I kind of thought the same. It is def the same theme as Smart Bar so I agree - this is def some kind of planned series now. Which makes me very very happy.

album seems to be short, but hey.

I thought it felt short too - but then added up the times and it's like 43 mins. Seems pretty solid.

But yeah... EVOL era instrumental album? Yes. Please. Yes.

Yeah! I've been waiting for these news so many years and it's really about the time to get "new" SY stuff to listen to.

Made In USA is one of my favorites in Sonic Youth discography.

As prime minister of the Made in USA Fan Club, this is obviously extremely exciting - they've been teasing this stuff since "Spinhead" appeared on the first Mix Tape in 2004! (I wonder if that's the first track on this? "Theme With Noise" might also be the one available for download on sy.com years ago.)

Chris - Have you ever seen this on anyone's bootleg lists? I don't think I ever saw any bootleg copies of this stuff _ I would have grabbed it! But I seem to have a vague memory maybe Loughney had it listed just as he dropped out of trading.

Nope! I'm curious, was the Made in USA soundtrack material circulating among collectors before its release in 1995? That's almost 10 years, but SY usually do a good job of bottling stuff up.

"coal producing town that had to relocate all its residents due to a decades-long, inextinguishable underground fire. The Sonics passed through this haunted-looking locale on their next tour after the sessions, and are pictured on the sleeve standing amidst smoldering embers."

That Centralia cover photo - the safety issue is that the ground underneath could suddenly give way possibly to a yawning hole of live hot coals.

same...very to nice to hear this. The 80's were very inspiring to the band.

The album sounds very much like a companion piece to Evol. Which is sort of what I always considered Made In USA. But this is even closer. Sort of makes sense sitting between the two.

If you combine Evol, Made In USA, Live at Continental Club, and Spinhead Sessions then you have a pretty great representation of Sonic86.

Does Billboard take pre-orders into account? I hope so. I'd like to see this crack the Top 20. Don't see why it wouldn't.

I really enjoyed the riff on wolf, wish it had been longer and w/ the drum part or something

So good, the tracks on Made In USA in this style were always my favorite from that album. Nice to have a lot more. It almost sounds like some of those were extracted from these longer ones, but I can't really tell and am guessing that is not actually the case. Could have been an SYR, wonder why they chose not to go that way?

Seems the SYRs were all specifically from sessions recorded at Murray St is my guess

Well, to me it seems Smart Bar started kind of "archive" -album series. In Syr´s there wasn´t as much time between recording and release (yes I know there were years in 6, 7 & 8). Also in SYR´s there have been mostly material that isn´t anywhere other in any versions, you have to remember ATL wasn´t released when SYR2 came.

What I really hope we will have some kind of release (Vinyl!) from Demonlover.

i really like it. at first i wanted more variety cuz that one theme keeps coming back. As i listen to it more i pick up more details.
