I love all PJ Harvey
I found an import CD of DRY at my local record store a few years ago and almost creamed. I ahd been looking for it for years. RID OF ME - I fucking love the fiercensss on this album. the songs are killer as well. I love how PJ's songs have this subtle propulsion, that turns into a raging inferno of cathartic rock. I love all her albums. Is This Desire ( beautiful album), To Bring You My Love (heaviest BASS on any rock record I have ever ever heard), DRY (just the shit, the real deal shit), Stories from the city...Sea (fantastic gorgeous album. There are some songs on here that drive me to tears) Uh HUH HER (I fucking love this album. this album is as spare as anything yet has such harsh flow.) |

john parish is awesome!!!! |
PJ Harbey is teh shiznit
|
I only have Dry, Rid of Me and Uh huh her. I like them a lot but in some instances, her lyrics can be a bit weak. Most of the time she hits the mark and it's really great. She has a beautiful voice and the music is nice mix of punk and blues. I am a pretty big fan of what i've heard so far and i eventually plan to acquire her complete catalogue.
*revised |
eh,think about this: she recorded EVERYTHING by herself on that record (except the drums coz she "feels not enough confident doing this")
|
hmm. she's always naked in her albums.
|
her lyrics are weak? her lyrics are weak?
to each their own I guess. I think her shit is fierce. I also own 4-track demos, and it is great. I own all the polly jean harvey! |
I love PJ Harvey, he lyrics are very strong and sexy.
BTW, there is an upskirt shot of her floating around the internet, I think I saw it on google picture search. I hate to bring sex into the conversation, but who really gets off to upskirt shots? |

Yeah when she hits the mark her songwriting is something to behold. but i just feel that sometimes, y'know, she says some dumb stuff. |
PJ Harvey does not always sing from her own persona you know.

It's cool to see some other PJ Harvey freaks. Rid of Me and To Bring You My Love rocked me for years and then Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea came out and blew my mind. It might be kind of sacrilige to some fans, but Stories has been my favorite since I heard it.....so good. There is some good live stuff/videos of hers on youtube too. I posted the video for A Place Called Home in that youtube thread. |
Nevermind; I'm not bashing her. I really like her work, she's quite the gal.

We have just got wind of the fact that Polly is due to commence work on a new record. It looks like work will start in November when Polly joins forces once again with Flood and John Parish (who will share production duties). As mentioned by Polly during recent appearances, the new material has been written mainly to piano, a brand new departure for Polly. We'll keep you posted on any updates as and when we get them. |

i think she's entering the studio again soon with flood and the other guy to record a new album. news was on the nme website...
