Steve Shelley is such an asshole, he's the reason Sonic Youth lost all their gear in '99. You see, steve, knowing that a drumset is easy to replace but pricelessly modified guitar and effects are not so much so, gave the location of the band's gear trailer to a bunch of cowboys. Such a jerk.

Wow, I never knew that. Bring back Bob Bert is what I say.

obviously i've never met the guy but i generally like his interviews and such, he seems quite a likeable character

I'd probably say Pavement. Malkmus isn't an asshole, but he dominated the band too much.

Rollins ain't such a bad dude. He knows what he wants, and he doesn't like many humans much. I can relate to that to a certain degree.

Henry Rollins is one of the funniest, intelligent guys to ever be paid to scream at people.

I dunno. Everytime I see Rollins I just think, has this man ever thought he might be wrong about ANYTHING?

I thought he was pretty good in that 'punk attitude' movie.

Sure, but a little bit of self questioning never did anyone any harm. I always feel like he's telling me off when I hear him sing.

I guess Rollins is just one of those guys you can either deal with or not.

Pretty minor, but the singer from the Dismemberment Plan gave me a dirty look cuz I was in his way to get on stage - maybe not intended, but seemed that way. Been over them a while though.

a few:

obvious one: Billy Corgan (careerist, egocentric, envious) but still a good song writer, not a good lyricist in the least, infact wrote some of the worst shit ever

really obvious one: Metallica "mainly Lars"(imploded on themselves, haven't made a good album in forever)

Frank Black (broke the band up by fax in 92, very dominant, didn't let Kim Deal have many songs on the old records)

the one that is obvious if you look at it but many don't want to think of him that way: Kurt Cobain (fame got to him, you can claim Courtney influence but still it was his choice, doesn't mean he he wasn't a good person, but often more then not he acted like an asshole)

Ive seen them live 13 times now and have no clue what you mean? One hell of a nice guy everytime Ive talked to him.

henry rollins has made valuable contributions to the worlds of music and
literature (not so much the realm of cinema) but he has always struck me
as the guy whose tombstone will read, "I'M STILL BETTER THAN YOU."

Really? He came to Ottawa twice recently.

The first time, the show was postponed for 1 1/2 hours because of an investigation in front of the venue becasue they found a dead baby in a garbage can. Jacob kept making dead baby jokes the entire time.

The time that I saw them, he stopped in mid-song because the drummer messed up a drumroll, and made them play the song from the top again. Then, after the song he refused to play if people took pictures of them. And near the end of the show, a girl at the front had an athsma attack and fell on the stage. He yelled "GET THE FUCK OFF THE STAGE" in middle of the song, then wrapped his mic cord around her neck. Theres a pretty lengthy thread on this actually.

Jacob seemed like a total loser from what I can see!

this is not as funny as you think it is at all.

The ex-drummer for my band, who left to go work at McDonald's and left us to do semi acoustic shit where I can't play too loud otherwise I drown out our singer's crappy acoustic guitar which he hasn't ever changed the strings on and for which he won't get a soundhole pickup for so people can actually hear the damn thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

same thing heppened with me and john zorn. i was at a show of his and went outside to smoke. it was rainey so i leaned against the door to light up, i then turn around and see a guy with a sweatshirt with hebrew letters, army pants ans tzitzit (a jewish prayer shawl thingy) waiting inback of me, giving me a dirty look. i moved but then when he went inside i looked at him again and was like "shit! that was john zorn!"
i dont think he likes me, plus he was sick that night...

Smashing Pumpkins was let down by Billy Corgan. Seriously, I'd like them so much more if he wasn't such a prick.
