Why do you assume this because we don't like some shit fake emo band? You ALWAYS assume that just because we don't like the same bands as you, we are all close-minded. So yeah... shut up hahaha.

If "close minded" means "the total and complete hatred of awful music with no redeeming qualities" (though I don't think Brand New are THAT bad.. more on that in a sec), then I can see your point. Since it doesn't mean that, I think you should rephrase your statement to, "You are all so musically opionated haha damnnn." Which is okay. Because being opionated is one thing... being close-minded would be something like someone saying, "Summer, you are an idiot for liking this kind of music." I don't think anyone said that, is saynig that, or will say that. However, on some boards, you wouldn't be so lucky. Everyone's pretty nice here, really.

I can see the appeal of Brand New and honestly they're not too bad compared to most bands of their ilk (I mean, they covered "Car" by Built to Spill.. at least they have decent tastes), but come on... a Spiderland comparison? What a joke. Whoever made that comparison doesn't know anything about music whatsoever...

Awful vocals. Boring song until that nice little guitar hook 1:11 in. Like the odd, "off" sounding drum beat, a lot. Eh. Decent song, not much more.

Doesn't sound like Spiderland in the least. It does somewhat resemble what a very, very poor June of 44 though.

How so? That's a bit contradictory. The Eternal is a "return to form" (whatever) and people are praising it for that, yet when a band sounds like another band, it's bad? It's sort of the same concept I think

IMO their first album fucking sucked, Deja Entendu was okay for the most part. The Devil and God was fucking BRILLIANT. I'm SO pumped for the new album. It will be phenomenal.

Tbh I hate Spiderland. Slint's two song EP is better than anything on Spiderland. At the same time, Rodan's Rusty (theyre from the same city as Slint =D) is much better than anything Slint ever did.

If you hate Spiderland, then why did you mention it in your original post as a justification for why this album will be.. erm... "Epic" and therefore, I guess, worthy of our time?

...and tweez isnt a very good album by the way..,moments og genius interrupt the lazy tedium of a band who didnt really know what they were at... the e.p. and spiderland formed the band perfectly and spiderland is a near a perfect record as you will ever get..... again, im close minded and adam you are bang on..as forums go, 95% of the people on here are damn fucking nice people..we a rock!
