Murray Street is the perfect LP, the greatest ever.
Sonic love, everyone. |

I can't believe I don't have it yet. Once I start work again, I'm using my whole first paycheque on Sonic Youth CD's that I don't have that I should have. Murray Street's supposed to be like a better Sonic Nurse, so it's essential. (yay, 50 posts) |
Worth the money for Rain on Tin alone in my opinion. I doubted they would ever do anything to top Sister and Dirty, but they did. Now I'm very hopeful for this new LP too.
Yeah, Murray Street is definitely an essential. One of the best records of the 21st century thus far, I must say.
hey dude
I heard Sonic Youth HuskerDewed in '84 |
I'm going to miss the old fullerene board. Hey, at least I can still troll the Game and Limp Bizkit boards with Goo14.
Dom, Sonic Youth actually were Husker Du in 83.
I thought in '83 Sonic Youth was in The Beatles??? Go figure.....
or maybe they were Frank Zappa, too many people.....
Oh yeah I forgot.
HuskermountainDew84 4 life! with that said I HAVE to post this picture from the old thread |
Dude, Sonic Youth was the Beatles in the 40s. Way off!
Captain Beefheat + Robby Dylan + Diana Ross + Stevie Wonder + Little Richard = Sonic Youth x Frank Zappa x Bealtes = Husker Du/Sonic Youth = Miles Davis + Sun Ra + Stooges = Velvet Underground - Nico = SONIC YOUTH
it's that simple |

Yeah, well, Sonic youth are still going and the Beatles aren't, so who's laughing now? |
Good point Hip Priest, hey wait a sec., aren't you in The Fall???
My brother. He's watching I (heart) Huckabees.
have you seen it before?

hmmm....so I'm guessing that makes another person that didn't like I heart Huckabees |
I dunno. I liked that movie. It was kind of funny/strange.
hey chabib, have you seen Delicatesen(? on the spelling)
Delicatessen is a perfect film for SY to have done the soundtrack for, would have been great to have bad moon rising/evol/sister era youth as background music....
sonic can be put in anything to make it sonic youth related. like sonic pimp
Sonic Youth once challenged THE GAME. Was anyone else at this concert in '82? Twas kickass.
Who is the best scooter rider in SY? |
Quote:
I was there Husker-Doin it up! Definitely Lee. |
I can see Lee being the best.
Just because I loved this question back in the land of Fullerene, if the Youth were in high school, where would they sit in the cafeteria? |
They would sit with the sonic kids. Duh. And yes of course I was there when Sonic Youth Challanged the Game. If you didn't know, the recording of the Tuff Titty Rap came from that show. The Game didn't even battle them after that.
Fuck, you were there too? The Game got creamed by the Yoof. Silly Game.
Hell yeah the Game got creamed. Thurston has some mean rymes but I heard Steve was the king of freestyle.
Steve can release fresh beats like a mofo in heat. He is the man.
Quote:
That's because Steve IS a MOFO in HEAT. |
Hey guys, do you know if Sonic Youth ever wore matching outfits? I'm pretty sure they did. I think I remember them all wearing blue jumpsuits at a show back in 87. Anybody else remember this?
I remember them wearing matching outfits when they were called THE LOCUST.
They were American flag jumpsuits, silly noumenal.
Oh, that's right.
Yes!
