Good covers.
Seeing as no-one actually started this thread.
Nick Cave's version of running scared. Cash's version of One, which nearly makes me think it's not by u2 (see also Sting cover) Diamanda Galas - pick a song and it's a great cover Albert Kuvezin's cover of love will tear us apart. Coltrane's 'my favourite things' (insanity itself) Roland Kirk's version of I say a little prayer. Ground Zero's cover of Roland Kirk's cover of I say a little prayer. Otomo Yoshihide's NJE version of Preach. The Fall's version of I can see the grass grow/ Victoria. The Galactic Symposium's cover of YMCA (download this song NOW heathens) I could go on. Someone else play. |

I made a huge list once (as I am wont to do) & just never saved it from a post at the old board with the same topic.
There's no need to save stuff here at the new board, thankfully, because the Search feature actually works exceedingly well! Hallelujah! |
Steel Pole Bathtub's cover of "What I Need".

Loop's cover of The Pop Group's "Thief Of Fire" completely slays, as does Godflesh's cover of Loop's "Straight To Your Heart."

Indeed. I'm glad I'm not the only one here who recognises the sheer genius of that album. I have made it very clear to most that know me that I want Die Papple vom Karlsplatz from that album played at my funeral. It's a hearty thumbs up from over here. I should've mentioned Gabba (http://www.myspace.com/gabbauk) who do covers of Abba songs in the style of the Ramones. Check the shit out of that shit. The Delgado's cover of ELO's 'mr blue skies' is outstanding. Keiji Haino's version of 'see that my grave is kept clean'. Half man half biscuits version of the same. |
the twilight singers have a covers album out, i dont really like em myself but my friend is Greg Duli mad and he played me a version of Bjork's Hyperballad that they do, its well worth a listen, top stuff.
