I'm deaf
So please describe what you're listening to.
Every night now, for about a month, I turn off the music, settle down to sleep, and during the hypnogogic phase of sleeping, I hear symphonies in the micturations of the pipes in my house. I've recorded it, and there's absurd overtones going on, constantly, that are largely inaudible to the insensitive ear. For the deaf, I have nothing.
your dumb as well.
If only
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you. Is that what you said?
I can't read much of this thread I just wanna say that lately I hear music in my dreams REALLY REALLY loud on loop and some of them are songs I know and some are just great stuff that somehow my head comes up with but I can never remember it the next morning. Sometimes it is so loud I sort of cover my ears by instinct (ive been told) but it doesnt help does it.

Yeah, I've had dreams a bit like that where the music I hear sounds very original that would probably get me signed to a record label if I remembered it and recorded a demo of it. :) |
Some believe that all art is already made in the astral plane and we are just the messengers of it. Look it up and try strengthen your dream recall.. this music in your dreams might aid your creativity.
oh i believe that.
all art i dont know. but music yes. music cant be exactly written. it just is. if you know what i mean. |
you can write down the notes to be played but not the actual sounds that come out of the instruments when they are. At least not with any precision.
The blurred edges of 'precision' in this case are no means of justifying calling the notes ambiguous; there is an empirical, physical value for each note. I always think it's a case of throwing out the baby with the bathwater to suggest that the various contingencies are somehow undermining of the effort to write things down in music; sure, have a technique, but don't write off one that's worked out very well for a number of people.
we're talking spiritual now.
what if all music has been existiting forever, what if its all part of the same perfect music we've been trying to hear, what if there is ONE supreme piece of music or whatever. this is what happens if i don't drink enough. |

just to make things entirely clear, I wasn't talking spiritual |

Please drink more. I don't think I can stand much more of that sort of soporific dross |
What?
Please stop describing the music you're listening to, now. It's probably shit, and I can do without.
