I have a dilemma and i need some perspective
this saturday, a couple friends of mine are having a record release/radio show anniversary party (they have a radio show and they just released their first album, they are combining both things to throw a party); we're not super tight friends but i jammed once with them, made a million promises to start a project together which never happened, they have borrowed cds from me and haven't returned to me and still owe me some they promised to lend me, pretty much never hear of them, etc.
so should i go to their party? |
As long as you don't think it would be awkward then you should go. Probably be some cool people there.
|
yes party, get your cds get drunk have a good time talk about doing projects together never follow through get drunker forget your cds still have a good time wake up hungover
|
Sure. You might be able to work out a deal, in terms of the stuff.
|
dude i got like a billion projects i talk about that never materialize.
unless these guys annoy you, id go. esspecially if you have nothing better to do. |
Were you invited? If so, go; with an open mind.
|
don't worry about unreturned shit...its just petty..
go and have fun...projects happen when they happen....if you want it to go down sooner...get it goin yourself! |
yes, forgot to say, i was invited alright.
thanks for the advise, but i think it's going to be awkward. (for other reasons other than what i posted, though). |
drink a bottle of robotussin...go to the party.....freak....
|
Yeah :) what they said...
|
the other option is that you could try and make a decision for yourself because ummm going to a party is not a big deal in any possible way, it is for fun, don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go don't go go hope that helps with your decision

as you might have read on the title of the thread, i asked for perspective, not "tell me what to do". and the "don't go go don't go" doesn't help, i can do that by myself. |
both my posts in this thread have been to give you perspective, my perspective, you either go or you don't it is very very simple
|
if it's awkward, you could just leave.

you should go to their party and show them up for the cockmunchers they are. or just do something else and forget them.
|
thanks for answering guys, i appreciate it
|
I'd go to the party, If that gave me a chance to get free beer and my cd's back. And you'll probably enjoy yourself.
|
go, but if you feel its gonna be awkward dont, nobody should ever feel "awkward" its a big self-doubt feeling and you should not have to go thru it unless its nessessary, it might look bad if you felt "awkward" at a family wedding or something but if you didnt go it would look worse... so fuck it, if your gonna feel awkward screw em. Although - what really gets my goat is when people "borrow" CD's there is no return spring..i.e you dont get em back, CD's are expensive enough in todays society and if i were you i'd go with the chance of getting these CD's back as my main priority. As for planning a band or what not, dont bother with these people, i dont mean to be rude but i think their main priority was to get CD's or whatever they can off you and thats it.. they would not be very reliable in a "band format" so go Everyneurotic, get your Cd's back for one and keep these people at arms length..
go in and think..."what can i do for this party..." |

I lent a cd to friend of mine and after a while I said could I have he back he says "I've lost the cd but I have the case for it, so if I do a copy of it (he'd put it onto his ipod) would that be ok?" NO THAT IS NOT ALRIGHT. BUY ME A NEW ONE OR GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE. He still hasn't got me the cd back. Bastard. I now refuse to lend people cds because of that incident. |
