Favourite hangover cure
As I'm, er, recovering from a chance meeting with alcohol last night, I was wondering which hangover cures the boardies recommend. Any surefire suggestions?
|
i favor bloody marys. of course they get you drunk again. but hey! that's just double the fun. well actually they help a bit. how can i explain...
roughly you do this: get a nice pitcher & put ice at the bottom. cubes, not crushed. add 6 oz. a nice vodka. i like stolichnaya but anything good will do. you definitely do not want the kind that makes you blind, here. add the juice of 1 lemon.. about 1/2 ounce? 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper stir the stuff pour in 16oz. organic tomato juice (i don't know what you have in england, in amerikkka i use knudsen) stir a little more add some fresh ground black pepper garnish w/ lime wedges if that does not cure your hangove it will at least make you happy. i like to eat this will all sorts of revivifying breakfast foods... |
walk, exersice, vitamin b12, d and c, diet coke, orgasm, shower, water, ibuprofen, sleep, cup of tea.

one prescription 600mg Ibproffen pill...always works for me

ibuprofen fucks with your liver. so does acetaminophen (tylenol). so does alcohol. why further abuse the little guy? mixtures like that are dangerous... stick to alcohol as a cure :p |
I can't remember the last time I had a hangover.
There is no cure. I don't understand why I ever voluntarily made myself feel so ill. I'm the smug one after a party/night out, who gets up the next day with a spring in my step and plays music really loud. I also don't smoke or do any drugs, kick dogs, kill bees, queue jump, shout, swear, or steal. I'm 5'11" and would like to meet a woman with similar disinterests, into eating out in smoke-free restaurants, going to serious theatre, and live music (no dancers please). |
Lucozade and a fried breakfast.

high blood sugar + fried foods = inflammation |
The best one is prevention, also known as moderation.

Yeah, that's exactly what he wants to hear right now! |

Probably...Lucozade is a short term thing to pep you up a bit. If I was hung over I'd probably drink a lot of cups of tea and eat some toast. I haven't had a bad hang over for years though. |
taking aspirin before you go to bed does help somewhat. if you check it out on wikipedia they have some almost useful hints.
iain you dont drink! how do you know about hangover cures? is there something your not telling us? the first step is to admit it. hehe |
I think a fried breakfast is more of a gague of just how hung over you are. If you keep it down you suddenly realise "hey, I'm not as hungover as I thought" and if you puke it up then you eventually get that post vomiting feeling of relief. That's the science behind it.

Yeah, I don't drink now but that hasn't always been the case. I've had hangovers many a time. It's just been so long I can't really remember how bad they are (apart from the few absolute horrors of hangovers which still live on in the memory) |

Yeah, gosh, I feel so sorry for him. Patient: It hurts when I do this. Doctor: Then don't do that! |

Your concern touches me. In a very special place. One day, I'll let you touch that special place. |
a sip of the drink that got you hungover in the first place!
AKA 'hair of the dog' AKA homeopathy |
Yes, well, it wasn't like anybody held you down and dumped a bottle of scotch down your throat, now was it?
