thread for me to post my films
Instead of starting a thread every time I make a new film, I'll just use this thread.
Here's my new short: nothing is as beautiful as nothing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zf37CDSG-lg&feature=channel_page The original version is available for d/l on my mediafire for now if you'd rather have that. I re-edited this one because I wasn't happy with the original. |
Here's another:
exploding head (dec. '67) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haZyu...e=channel_page A short film about the loss of memory. ...Basically, I found an old picture of my mom and decided to make a short film just using that picture as the only source for the imagery. I mean, really, if you think about it, you can manipulate images in an infinite number of ways, so I just kinda limited myself to only working on this thing for an hour and having only 500 images in the end. I think it turned out interesting enough. |

I'm gonna sound predictable here but this might be my favourite of all the things you've done so far. Seriously awesome! |
exploding head is amazing!

Haha really? I appreciate it. It took forever. It didn't turn out how I wanted it to, but that's what the purpose of these shorts is to do... to experiment. Thank you!! |
is there sound? I need new headphones :(
|
With the first film, is that the final length or is it planned as a segment of something longer?
|
Yeah, it's the final length. Haha. The actual product was a good 2 minutes (1973 individually-manipulated images!) but I sped it up a bunch to give it that weird look. I will probably do something else in that style eventually. It was very time consuming though and just an experiment in animation and color.
|
I'll admit, scizzor shock was a little too much for me. I'm a huge fan of yr visuals though.
when yr rich and living in holyweird, remember us. |
Haha. Scissor Shock has calmed down. Listen to "proud of white blood cells" at
http://www.myspace.com/scissorshock it's positively FOLK! ...Glad you like my visuals, btw. I'll never be successful. Turns out there's not a huge market for the stuff I do. Go figure, eh? |
fuck a huge market + find yr niche = get the fuck out of walmartland + light smokes with $100's
well, maybe not $100's, but I bet you could burn $5's. |

who invented blindness?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3krO...e=channel_page This one is just me experimenting with layering ghost images on top of ghost images on top of... yeah. With a healthy dose of blur. Again, none of these are anything extremely substantial yet, just me messing around so I am skilled whenever I do my next project full of substance. Enjoy. |
makes me think of audio software visualisations...
|
medicine cabinet skeleton key
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBN7H...e=channel_page a fun little animated short. |
i like how it's increasingly impossible to put your work within the context of anybody else's. most people doing this stuff are just mimicking other bigger names but it's nice looking at what you're doing without having that sense of, 'oh, he's obviously been watching a lot of [x]'s stuff.'
|
Thanks, that is the highest compliment I've recieved. I appreciate it.
I was going to do 50 of these shorts but I think I'm just going to do maybe 10 and then get to work on my next film. Thanks for the support everyone! "I've got a joke for you." |
these are incredibly good and very well thought-out. very nice work.
if i ever make a music video i'm calling you the fuck up |
I have an idea for my next short but I want to know your guys's opinion first... if it's too silly/stupid.
Basically, I was going to design my own level of Super Mario Brothers 3 and have Mario run through it. But it's going to be all fucked-up looking.. so it won't obviously be Mario 3 and it won't obviously be Mario running. And it'll have droney/noisey music. And uh, that's it. That's the film. THink that's cool? |
