KING BUZZO is wicked good. I love me some Melvins.

viewtiful_alan 10.16.2008 08:16 PM

I actually was dissapointed in it... track 1 was amazing, 2 was stupid, three was pretty good, 4 was decent (its hard to say that one's a good song).
I thought it would be just amazing, but regardless, I enjoyed it.

Not as good as FIRST COME, but definitely good. Kurt's beats are perfect deranged horror-score bangers. Keith took his time with the lyrics... he does a lot of rapping instead of the weird spoken word style he had adopted for a few years. Also, he MOSTLY sticks to his concept here (though he throws in a hilarious track about Simon from American Idol, and a few other tangent tracks throughout). For the most part though, it's just a good, solid Keith record. Which I'm happy about. My favorite probably since THEE UNDATAKERZ (a vastly mis-understood and overlooked record!!). Also this one reminded me that Keith is not just left-field rap, he's true outsider art.
