I managed to grab the Free Noise upload - many thanks!

My uploads on the previous page are all my own server (the fangsandarrows one) so they're not on megaupload in case anyone is confused about that.

hipster_bebop_junkie 01.21.2012 02:20 AM

Thanks, gambra.

So shitty that Megaupload had to be taken down, I'm sure I didn't have any files up there in my account that would violate any copyright laws. After all, every live recording I shared circulates freely, so I was kind of pissed off and certainly disappointed. I never managed to download some very interesting stuff ilduclo had recently posted to his blog due to poor bandwidth, damn it.

In any case, it's not like the thread is totally dead now. I will share stuff whenever I can via Sendspace, wetransfer, or even my dropbox.

ilduclo 01.21.2012 10:01 AM

I;m still open to putting stuff up for folks.

Mega was great, because until now, it was stable and the files were there a long time. Not so any other places I found (for free, that is)

HBJ, just let me know anything you want, glad to do so! Also, mailing dvd loads of files out is still a real easy way to go for me (wife does all the mail tasks at casa duc)

rappard 01.24.2012 02:32 PM

Just found a new upload service:
http://minus.com/

Not sure what the quality is, but they have the same file size limit (2 GB) as http://wetransfer.com.

Thanks, Martin. I'm gonna subject it to a test. Just created an account, they gave me 10 GB of space and there's a chance of 1 GB free if I invite someone and they end up joining; I'm not doing that because 10 GB seems like a good deal already. Gotta upload a couple Mark Lanegan shows, hope those will be of some interest around here.

hipster_bebop_junkie 01.24.2012 08:46 PM

It was pretty much impossible to upload a damn thing to minus.com. The upload process got interrupted a lof of times, I kept trying and getting an error message every time until I finally gave up. Seems like Wetransfer is the way for me to go, even though the download links expire so fast.

Hi all. I'm new to this forum. There's some awesome stuff on here. I joined mainly to see if I could find some Fushitsusha bootlegs and other japanoise/ psych stuff. I see some past posts of Haino/Fushitsusha stuff but it's all Megaupload, which I'm sure all of you know now is tits up. I know this is a stab in the dark, but does anyone have the 6CD show from The Showboat that was released on Archive? {Archive 1-6: Live 12-13-2003} If anyone does, please post or contact me at mindlab.creative@gmail.com. Any other Fushitsusha bootlegs would be awesome too as I only have a couple.

SendSpace is my go-to transfer service nowadays. I get a decent upload speed using their SendSpace Wizard software, the connection is usually stable and shit remains there for 30 days after the last download (they e-mail you when a file is one week away from expiring, so if you're on top of things you can make sure your uploads don't fall off). A couple of important tips: 1.- Disable the "attempt to resume errored transfers" feature; resuming errored transfers can result in corrupt files, and 2.- 300MB is the maximum size for a single file, but, as their FAQ says, "experience has shown that files larger than 300MB can be difficult to upload and download for some users", so I think it's better to keep shit below 100MB; the cool thing is you can create folders, so even if you upload, let's say, a 600MB boot divided into six parts, you can still share it with a single link.

Word!

hipster_bebop_junkie 01.26.2012 07:56 PM

That sounds good. I still have an account on Sendspace, I should try those features you mentioned...

E. Noisefield 01.27.2012 03:12 AM

I would really like some lossless Flaming Lips shows. Much of my collection was destroyed.

This would really be appreciated, if anyone's coming here anymore. :)

Excellent advice, soup for you!

As for the last bit (sharing a folder with a single link): MediaFire has the same feature.

I'm not crazy about the Flaming Lips but I do need one FL show: 2004-12-31 at Madison Square Garden. They performed Sabbath's "War Pigs" with Corin Tucker!

Didn't know about this, but I'd like to hear it. An audience recording is in circulation. I've just e-mailed some people on etree, maybe I'll be able to set up a trade for it.

Also, there are a few recordings of recent Flaming Lips shows over at bt.etree as well:

An audience recording has circulated indeed. In fact, all three acts from that night (Sleater-Kinney, Flaming Lips and Wilco) were taped and the sound is very good. Sleater-Kinney performed all-new material (this was before The Woods came out — rad!) and Wilco covered Randy Newman, Judas Priest, Captain & Tennille, Devo and Charles Wright. Bitchen...

Many thanks for this, by the way! Last week I e-mailed a Dimer cat to make sure somebody would tape Joanna Newsom's performance on Austin City Limits. Expect an HD capture (.ts file) to surface soon...

E. Noisefield 01.27.2012 06:20 PM

Thanks everybody!!!
