Bitch, get in your hole! You have your own thread for that shit. Don't clog up ours!

Trama 09.07.2013 04:42 AM

I'll just leave this here.

How can you not love this team?
Meireles always puts a smile to my face.

They should have a reality show of their own.

demonrail666 09.07.2013 05:04 AM

Meireles reminds me of one of the nihilist guys in The Big Lebowski

Trama 09.07.2013 05:05 AM

The FA is getting desperate.

It'd be funny if England's future DMs(the other one is Eric Dier) came from Sporting's academy.

The majority of that post was about the USMNT game against Costa Rica, so meh, stop bogarting the thread yo!

Oh yeah. !@#$%!, was I right or was I right? Mexico in such a tailspin, have only one a single game in their WC qualifying group, coach just got fired. You were right about the firing being inevitable, I was right about the decline. I can't wait for Tuesday ;)

The story's fun and I think it is really well written, which makes it even better.

Refreshing!

Agreed! Thoroughly well written article.

Speaking of the FA, this story today blew my mind.

Futbol has finally merged with football. Its the flopping era of the NFL, and big surprise, the NY Giants got ridiculed for doing this in 2011 too ;)

US clinches World Cup slot. Mexico essentially eliminated. It was what is becoming a classic kind of Klinsmann US game. A slow first half to feel out the defense, fantastic readjustments at the half, so that the second half US team was unrecognizably faster and sharper than the first half. I don't know what Jurgen is telling these dudes at the half, but over the past several months its been working! Also, we shut out Mexico, yet again in Columbus, Ohio which is perhaps America's most raucous stadium for soccer. Mexico was rattled. Johnson gets a great goal in the second half by being patient. Then classic Klnismann, in comes Diskerud on a substitution and within 2 minutes he assisted Landon for a goal. Landon scores. Klinsmann has another miracle substitution to save the match. Great second-half readjustments. I can start liking this Jurgen USA style, much less hectic than the Bob Bradley era, where you literally never knew what to expect from match to match.

I'll say this, over the past few months our younger "B" guys who were in the Gold Cup have been playing better than our first team, maybe Jurgen should reevaluate the starting rosters for the World Cup.

h8kurdt 09.11.2013 02:14 AM

All I got to say about last night's game is that Ashley Young is fucking crap.

demonrail666 09.11.2013 07:56 AM

Hodgson's really starting to get on my nerves. I've defended him in the past and appreciate the need for pragmatism but it's knowing that it's the only we he'll have us play, regardless of the situation or who's fit or not. Bring back Glenn Hoddle (seriously).

Hadn't seen this Zlatan goal before but heard it mentioned on a documentary last night.

Pretty decent ...

And y'all think soccer own the flop, these dudez fell over like bowling pins

demonrail666 09.13.2013 07:13 AM

I keep watching that GIF imagining some shoplifters being chased by a pack of security guards. The NFL should replace the ball with a car stereo and introduce tasers.

gonna be a long season!

no way was that a penalty today, and I don't think the one we conceded against spurs was a pen either (the defender was too close to him when he crossed it. I've seen them given, but I've seen them not given too)

but we've looked ok at times, and shocking at others. with all the new players we've bought hopefully they'll work out in time.
Glen Murray should be back by Christmas, then just watch the goals come!

as for Holloway, no way should he be sacked!

Yeah, you've not had any luck with decisions so far.

I think Holloway's ridden the storm now, at least in terms of his immediate future. Seems the media are now focussing on DiCanio. They can't go a week without targeting someone.

Meanwhile, getting sick of Allardyce setting up for a draw in every bloody game, regardless of who we're playing. If we survive this season, it'll be entirely down to our defence. I'm all for caution but, from an entertainment pov, watching West Ham under Allardyce is becoming pure torture. Watching them right now and it's embarrassing. If he's parking the bus in front of teams like Newcastle, Stoke, Southampton, what's he gonna use when we play the bigger teams?

Interesting couple of nights ahead for the CL

Bayern, Real, Juve, PSG, Man U, Man C, all play tonight, with
Barca, Atletico, Chelsea, Arsenal, Porto, Dortmund all playing tomorrow.

Hard to decide which ones I'll watch. All the games involving English sides look good but wouldn't mind seeing Bayern v Moscow and/or Barca v Ajax either.

i could probably but it's the middle of the workday and it's far away. for a more important date maybe. god damn fuck.

ANYWAY on a lark let me recommend you the leverkusen/man u game

1) it's an english team, so you have skin in the game

2) leverkusen is not bad at all, they have several players on the german squad-- i like kiessling and castro. unfortunately they lost schurrle to chelsea and carvajal to real madrid. but a good effective side, never boring.

demonrail666 09.17.2013 01:29 PM

The Man U game's getting reg tv coverage here so I'll probably go with that. I can see MU struggling and it'll be nice supporting a German team for a change.

demonrail666 09.17.2013 04:01 PM

Ended up watching Real annihilate Galatasaray. Ronaldo on fire!

!@#$%! 09.17.2013 04:33 PM

man u beat leverkusen 4-2! not what i would have dreamed of, fuck, but spectators got to see 6 goals.

ps- man u/ real madrid is going to be brutal i assume

demonrail666 09.17.2013 04:46 PM

Man U were apparently good tonight but I don't think they're ready to seriously contend for the trophy.

Ethiopia Black Lions play Nigeria in a qualifier play-off for their FIRST ever World Cup berth. It will be a significant challenge, but I like our chances!!

SonicBebs 09.18.2013 12:51 AM

I haven't kept up to date with African football but Nigeria are very strong. On paper at least
Good luck

Aye it was a good game. Rooney, apart from missing an open goal (It was shocking), was great. I watched Fellaini a fair bit during the game and he had a bad game. I dunno if it's because he's out of his depth or what but urgh.

demonrail666 09.18.2013 04:35 AM

It's hilarious. I listened to the post game programme on Talksport and the presenters spent the whole show trying to interpret Moyes' "I don't know", when he was asked if Rooney was happy.

I want Nigeria to do well, or whichever of the African nations gets Marc Park to do their tournament song.

Either way, tonight's game between Barca and Ajax is gonna be like ATP for the chin-stroking tactics heads

Yeah, but Nigeria suffers from the New York Knicks phenomenon, they think too highly of themselves and lack discipline on the pitch to maximize their talent. They always field a world-class team talent wise, but fail to capitalize. Ethiopia can't necessarily compete roster wise, but we can most definitely bring a determined game, and at this point, hang with anyone in Africa because simply put, we're hungrier and don't feel as entitled. Nigerian players get caught up in attitude problems, expectations of high perks, and fazed by the lights of their own domestic stardom. Just the kind of hubris that can allow for Black Lions to deliver a swift gut-check ;)

!@#$%! 09.18.2013 01:45 PM

can sum1 hook a brother up w/ a dortmund stream?

wiziwig is turning up zero

thanks
