I haven't even touched the campaign yet on this because I've been pretty hooked on the multiplayer. The first Dead Space has become one of my favorite games EVER.....really amazing.

deflinus 01.26.2011 03:16 PM

i honestly haven't played this game in such a long time.
i think i'm going to try to 100% it and see how fast i can do it.
replay value is amazing in this game

no UMD drive? Idiots. Oh well. As you know I usually stay one-generation behind for ultimate savings. haha. So it'll be a while before I consider that thing.

Booooooo

3DS or DIE

noisereductions 01.27.2011 03:45 PM

I have minimal interest in 3DS and PSP2 to be honest. It usually takes me a while to get convinced about new consoles anyway. It's rare for me to jump on them right away. PS2 was my last launch-system actually. Usually I wait a couple years for prices to go down and for enough games that I might want to really play.

They probably changed from UMD to save money.....cause well you know how cheap Sony can be....which is stupid. Considering how powerful they want to amke it....I mean didn't UMD's have a considerable amount of space to put games into?

Super Mario Galaxy

This game is not just fun, it's damned fun. Anyone who owns a Wii and hasn't experienced this wonderful franchise yet, should definitely be ashamed of themselves.

You'll find yourself controlling Mario in all sorts of new ways that you'd never even thought of. This game is a landmark, and a fine example of what ingenuity more developers should be aiming towards when it comes to designing games for the Wii. Supposedly the sequel is even better, but I'm still waiting to beat part one first. Easily one of my favorite Mario titles of all-time, and that's really saying something.

The end? Noooo. You're about 30% of the way through if Zio's still around. Are you at Zio's Fort or Nurvus?

Tickerwelly 01.30.2011 11:42 PM

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I gave up on Nintendo after the Super and have only played Playstations since. I purchased a Wii not too long back and have been going back and playing what I missed on there. So far I really like this game.

oh thank god. someone who played it.

I'm at Zio's Fort. But I'm supposed to fight Zio (for the 2nd time after breaking his stupid barrier) and I do 1dmg per hit.

Doood Ocarina is fantastic. I've been wanting to revisit...but lack of Nintendo prevents this.

Dead Space 2 ... about to install it this evening. I'm pretty curious.

You know how to use items in battle, right? Just use the Psycho-Wand as you would healing potions like Monomate/Dimate. I recommend setting up a Macro with Rune using the Psycho-Wand, Rika and Demi casting Deban and putting up Barrier respectively, and Gryz and Chaz on Defense in case Zio gets off a shot before Rune can use the wand.

Ah yes, Phantasy Star IV. The only RPG I've ever played; simply wasn't into them before and haven't been able to get into any more since. Maybe I'll check out II and III on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection when I get a 360. Back in my pathetic days (high school), the game's well-developed characters and immersive world made me feel like I had more friends and more of a life than I actually did.

Final note: Isn't the music that plays during the fight with Zio awesome? Phantasy Star IV had one of the greatest soundtracks in game history, up there with Resident Evil 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Killer7...

shit on my way out. so this has to be quick. First! thanks for the info on using the pyschowand like regular items. I had just equipped it to Rune.

i'll be back later.

EDIT: Genetic You saved me. And well I was thinking about starting PSII and III myself...but wasn't sure if I should or not. I don't think I'm gonna though...not anytime soon. Probably go back to trying to beat Altered Beast and Streets of Rage 3.

EDIT2: oh yeah GENETIC! Does Deban only cushion one hit? It looks like it does. I just wanted to confirm this with you....an experienced playe.r

EDIT3: I actually haven't listened to Zio's battle music cause I was litening to some records....but most of the battle sounds and even the music in the "ancient civilization" labs are intense! and yeah...they kind of got me hooked.

EVOLghost 02.01.2011 03:35 PM

I'm not sure how long the effects of Deban last...all it says is "DFS POWER is UP!!" without specifying whether or not it's for the entire battle or just that round. However, I've found that casting Deban and doing Doubleslashes are pretty much all Rika's good for in this battle. (EDIT: Oh, wait, she's a good healer here too)

I've beaten PSIV about 4 or 5 times now...just let me know if you need help again, but only if you're really stuck, because half the fun (for me, anyways) of video games is figuring them out for yourself. Good luck!

EVOLghost 02.03.2011 07:38 AM

^ yeah....I kicked Zio's ass and was playing way past my bedtime last night.

I'm in Dezolis now (after the battle with The Dark Force)

and I'm moving along nicely now.

How do you like it? Did you play the first one? I still have been occupied with the multiplayer, which I hear isn't that great on the PC.

I'm getting pumped for Marvel vs Capcom 3 which comes out in like a week.

space 02.06.2011 01:45 PM

my mom medium disapproves of deadspace 2.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 02.07.2011 01:19 AM

One thing that I don't think people give the SEGA Genesis enough credit for, is just how fluid, and well-designed the controller's D-Pad is. Easily one of the nicest in the history of game consoles.

Ghostchase 02.07.2011 01:35 AM

Played some Advance Wars: Days of Ruin today for the first time in a while. Finally got a "S" on mission 19, kept messing up on that one for some reason and getting as low as "B"s. Pissed me off, now I'm very happy.

jon boy 02.07.2011 01:50 AM

its ok but its a little too easy to get killed and people spawn kill you all the time. spawn kill.

vulva 02.07.2011 02:57 AM

still playing ssf4. I'm now a tournament level player and can do pretty decent on a competitive level.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 02.07.2011 04:42 AM

This game is obviously a classic, and very, very fun. I do prefer to play it alone, rather than in the co-op mode though. I find that the enemies enjoy hiding off-screen more when playing with a friend.

Secondly, why am I always accidentally grappling player 2 from behind? Am I at fault, or is the game not as seamless as it's hyped to be? What's the point of even having the ability to do that in the programming? Is there some secret to Streets of Rage 2 that I'm missing where that is a useful gameplay aspect? I mean, fuck!

haha. yes. the endless Sor2 talk. I'm pretty sure this is the first game I've ever beat. As Al Sabbray pointed out, greatest soundtrack (almost) ever.

and I'm still trying to beat SoR3 by myself. I need another skilled sor'er

EVOLghost 02.07.2011 06:01 AM

Oh yeah. yesrterday I raged on Phantasy Star 4 some more. And well....Now I am really close (I believe) to the end.

You're still not there yet. Trust me, you'll know when you're REALLY near the end.

noisereductions 02.10.2011 10:35 AM

got some freelance work, so I've been playing Battle Arena Toshinden (PS1), RPG Maker (PS1), Einhander (PS1), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (PS1), and FFVII (PS1) accordingly.

played some Mega Man X Maverick Hunter (PSP) for recent blog post.

Still into my NBA 2K9 season (PS2) and just picked up Limines Plus (PS2) which would make Adam happy if he read this thread anymore. I think he said he doesn't bother.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 02.11.2011 04:04 AM

Monster Hunter Tri (Wii)

Picked it up w/ the classic controller pro bundle for $40. Just starting out, and I'm really impressed by the depth of this so far. I've never played a single Monster Hunter title, but this game had been on my mind for a while. I made my character, Bathory, such a hot, goth, monster hunting slut! Haha

Like most RPGs, I'll probably never beat it, but it sure does seem like an awfully good time killer. I'm really glad that I re-purchased a Wii, it's been nothing but an absolute treasure so far. Still need to get Sin & Punishment 2. That's probably what's up next for me.

_slavo_ 02.11.2011 09:16 AM

I'm playing Bioshock 1 currently. Such an entertaining game!
