the album "Anidrea"? I'm on my 2nd listen..
It has a few cool songs, but it isn't really my thing. Too many soul samples. I like how off-time a lot of the beats and sounds are, but he just doesn't go far enough in any direction that I can get into. It's pleasant enough. |
yeah, Anidrea. Pleasant is the word, yeah... I thought the second half was kinda cool, but the beginning dragged a bit. And it felt too "simple" at times to be really interesting. Still kinda good but there's really much much better (eg: THAT MONO/POLY ALBUM FOR FUCKS SAKE :D)
|
exactly what I thought.
gonna get that mono poly thing now, thanks. Been listening to cooly g too, has some awesome tracks. thanks for getting me on this kick! I feel like a drug addict. |
I gotta listen to more Cooly G, Weekend Fly is fucking great.
And you're welcome. It's nice to see some love for this style. I honestly think dubstep+wonky is the most exciting thing in music right now. But that might be because I've been so fucking hooked on it for a year now. |
oh yeah, it's definitely exciting me. I can see how people would think it's boring though. It's just nice to hear some electronic music that's a bit different without being, like, IDM, or Autechre-wannabe or something... like, still oftentimes having great melodies and always some great driving beats -- still respect for form and structure... but having some beautiful asides and whatnot, some offtime stuff, all these neat minor abstractions and deviations... Intelligent stuff. I love it!

just the front cover is metal. The box itself is cardboard.
|
|
okay. do I miss bonus content when I buy the standard
|
bonus content? I don't beleive there is more than one version of the box.
|
okay cool. then I mixed something up in my mind.
|
there's the box (3cd, 1 dvd)
and there's Sliver (1cd "best of the box") |

I have not stoppped listening since i got it. Thats how I am i find something i love and play until i can regurgitate it. I am really finding it great how simple, rough and totally different the songs started versus how they were released. You can kind of watch the songs being built step by step. |
