I do have some weird 7" Sergeant did as "Glide," which I like. I also like his "Themes For Grind" solo LP quite a lot.

Bunnymen? What about Big In Japan if we're talking shit 80's indie music from Liverpool.

It was "Ha, that's funny; I'd forgotten that particularly wretched slice of 80s-ness."

To The Shores Of Lake Placid, anyone?

sonicl 12.28.2006 11:34 AM

To The Shores Of Lake Placid was class. If you so much as THINK of dissing anything that Julian Cope has been involved in, I'll be round your house with Jon Boy's ferrets before you know it.

porkmarras 12.28.2006 11:34 AM

Oh but Lotus Eaters had a really cool song and video.

porkmarras 12.28.2006 11:35 AM

The Lotus Eaters was the name of an 1980s New Wave band from Liverpool, England, whose single "First Picture of You," from their debut album, No Sense of Sin (1984), became a hit in the UK. They had toured extensively throughout Japan, despite arguments with their record label over there.
In 2002, The Lotus Eaters, reduced to the duo of Peter Coyle (vocalist) (born 25 January 1962, in Liverpool) and Jeremy Kelly (guitarist - formerly with The Wild Swans) (born 8 April 1962, in Liverpool), reformed after almost two decades, to record and release a new album, entitled Silentspace.

So, to summarise, what the cunting twat is going on in this thread?

The third record I bought was the second Echobelly album. She was, and probably is, utterly gorgeous. But the music's aged badly (some might say 'tis I that has aged badly...).

She was indeed a fair bit of crumpet, as they say.
