Paramount bean-counters tweak new Star Trek movie to be less Trek and more watered-down action bullshit for the foreign market. Roddenberry should come back from the dead and zombie-murder everyone responsible. http://movies.yahoo.com/news/star-tr...124423696.html

Perhaps....but that's why I'm still reading your posts regardless if I respond or not(basically saying what @)(&*$*(&$)(#*&%)* said).

I felt the same way BP. When I saw how bad off the other people at the skilled nursing facility were (where my mom spent 3 months after almost dying last november), it drove home the point I always try to keep in mind. No matter how bad you are, how hopeless the situation, there is someone nearby who would gladly trade their life for yours.

I wish more people lived their lives with this thought.

you are 100% correct.
also will reply to your pm.

i have an interview about some other job this coming tuesday.
even by the small talk i had with the guy/interviewer on the phone, he seemed like an asshole.
the guy who interfered for this interview, is friend of my parents and is full of shit. my father says: oh he is such an asshole, in the low iq manner.
he -not my father, the middle guy-told me that this guy doesnt usually hire women, because they create problems.
hahahahhaha i ll bitch about this in the interview..if i get the chance.
sorry for the rant; i have zero luxury to diss any job atm, but...i think i will.

Nefeli 05.17.2013 03:23 AM

i always wanted to have a bar, where i would be able to go and have a drink by myself. knowing the people who work there and feel it like home. i sort of have a place like that in the center, but its not ideal, not a drinking place, more like a bar-smallclub and i dont live in the center.
i want to make another bar, home, near my area and hopefully, i ll go there tonight alone after SWANS LIVE YAY!!!

generally i always wanted to be able to go to a bar and have a drink on my own, even without knowing the people, but that would assume that i live in a busy area with bars near by and i dont.

Nefeli 05.18.2013 09:42 AM

trivia about swans live last night:
a friend is working with the organisers and he was whole day with the band and he told me stuff whining, stuff that i was finding cool though.
the band wanted to play for 3 hours, the organisers said no.WTF MAN!???
Gira was pissed because they didnt get him stuffed tomatoes to eat (traditional yummy food, so who can blame him?).
he was pissed (lol) because there was a gab between the stage and the crowd. 'what the fuck is that? i wanna be near to the people!'.
and he also told my friend to change the ringtone of his phone, because he didnt like it. :) my friend at some point told him 'its ok, its not like we gonna be hanging around for long'.

Me too. I probably listen to him more than I do SY (which doesn't say much) although I always want to like Queen more than I do. But yeah, Springsteen. Love him to bits.

h8kurdt 05.19.2013 04:32 PM

My sarcasm detector is currently going haywire from that comment.

demonrail666 05.19.2013 05:02 PM

Quite honestly, no sarcasm at all. If anyone asked me who my single favourite artist was, I'd immediately say Springsteen.
If yo're still not convinced, ask Glice; I've been boring him about this via PMs for years. (He loves Springsteen, too, even if he doesn't realise it yet.)

Fave Springsteen song: Bobby Jean

Yesterday,, we took my father-in-law out for a day in Houston. We started at MFAH with the Picasso Black and White exhibition. One of the few times the Black and Whites are all together.

This was followed by lunch at Pappasito's and a visit to Three Brother's Bakrey. All in all, my father-in-law did wonderful in public situations. He got in and out of the van four times.. Said he couldn't do it again today, but sure would tomorrow:)

Unless TIRR makes another change, my father-in-law will be released on Wednesday.

Think I may hit Vinal Edge tomorrow.

Sounds cool Bytor! Glad you and your dad-in-law had a good day! Did you Pic-your-own-asso? ha! That is what Beavis said.

Born To Run is just something else. Although I think my heart goes with Nebraska. Purely cos I became obsessed with listening to it at 5am on the way to work 3 winters ago when it was god awful snow. I was basically having to drive through country roads in pitch black and never has an album felt more appropriate for a situation.

My favourite albums/songs constantly change depending on my mood and often the time of year. I'm caning the Born in the USA album a lot at the moment but as the summer comes in I can see myself playing The Wild and the Innocent, or Greetings from Asbury Park a lot more. And Nebraska is obviously perfect dead-of-winter listening, as you say.

demonrail666 05.20.2013 02:40 PM

is it true that people in the south refer to all fizzy soft drinks as Coke?

Rob Instigator 05.20.2013 02:41 PM

yes.

Sample conversation

"Hey, man. I'm gonna get a coke. you want one?"
"Yeah."
"Whatchoo want?"
"Gemme a Sprite."

In the South, hearing people say they want a glass of "pop" makes us laugh at them.

demonrail666 05.20.2013 03:00 PM

Haha. Thanks. I was just watching something on TV that mentioned it and wondered if it was true.

Rob Instigator 05.20.2013 03:31 PM

It's still like that in TX

!@#$%! 05.20.2013 04:33 PM

same thing in many spanish-speaking countries, "una coca" can be a soda regardless of the actual brand. if you say cocacola then it's the brand but a coca can be any soda. although coca can also mean specifically cocacola (and cocaine).

>.< aye! I used the term pop. Though....I don't think I've ever referred to a cup/glass of pop. it's always just like "lemmeh get/steal a pop."

that belongs in the PISSED OFF thread!

but regardless what some jury thinks of your work, as long as you're doing what you want you're being successful.
