I'd be willing to stake money that very little of what everyone else is listening to on here right now is as awesome as this.

For a while, Roosevelt was considered one of the main characters on Sesame Street. He even had his own record album, The Year of Roosevelt Franklin. Despite significant popularity, he was dropped from the cast following letters complaining of a negative African-American stereotype, and because his rowdy elementary school did not set a good example for children. Roosevelt continued to surface occasionally in storybooks, however, as late as 1996.

and it's one groovy kid album.

oh I thought it was:

Roosevelt Franklin is an alternative rap group that took their name from the Sesame Street character Roosevelt Franklin. The group, consisting of former Company Flow producer Mr. Len and MC Kemani Rogers, released their debut LP Something's Gotta Give on Smack Records in 2003.
In addition to a number of references to Sesame Street and Muppets in single lines and on their websites, the album features a track titled Muppet Love, which is available for download at on the Smack Records website. The double-vinyl release of the album features the character Roosevelt Franklin in its artwork and main cover graphic.
